Senithia, Raven, and their team did an EXCEPTIONAL job on my Grammy's recent "100th Heavenly Birthday" Celebration! Our family wanted a special way to gather and mark her remarkable 99 and 3/4 years of life, and Appomattox Event Center made this easy with their ever-present warmth, eager accommodation, abundant creativity, and prompt coordination of catering and cake services to meet our needs. The venue's aesthetic is welcoming and fresh with personal touches abounding. The gold, silver, and white decor they provided included a variety of eye-catching centerpieces, sparkling table coverings, and a coordinating balloon arch for BEAUTIFUL family pictures. They set up the technology for a picture slideshow for guests to reflect on Grammy's life, as well as a sound system for enjoying some of her favorite songs. They gave us confidence throughout the entire planning process during a difficult season of grief. Our family is forever grateful for their gift of hospitality to us!
The event space was very beautiful. But the customer service by the owner was very poor. My wedding coordinator was pushed to rush the delivery of my wedding. Once I obtained her services and signed the contract she switched everything up. We did not appreciate her micromanaging the wedding ceremony and micromanaging the wedding coordinator. The owner interjected herself into the wedding by cleaning up and breaking down my tables at 5:30 and we had the building until 9:00. The owner told my guests that she gave us more than what we paid for. The owner cut the soloist song off and told the wedding coordinator that we had to hurry up. We didn’t light our unity candles, we didn’t throw the bouquet, we didn’t take the gaudier off . All because she decided that we needed to hurry up. It is one thing to pay for a service on your wedding day and then have someone else micromanage your event. I was told I had a bridal suite for me and the ladies to get ready, it was a cluttered office space and for the price and advertising it was not a bridal suite. When you are looking for an event space be sure to find out how involved the owner is going to be in your wedding. Micromanaging your event by the owner made it very difficult for the wedding coordinator to do her job. All of this reflected as my friends and family saw what the owner did and my guests were very uncomfortable and disappointed in the owner they way she interjected herself in the wedding. I do not recommend this event space because of the owner. The owner should have been very much in the background and not in the forefront.
This venue is absolutely beautiful! Very spacious and would be fantastic for any event you want to have. My niece had her wedding there and I was in awe of how awesome the venue is. I don't live in the area but would highly recommend it to anyone! You will not be disappointed!!!
Beautiful place to have your event! Spacious and nicely decorated. The owner is very friendly and accomodating.
They have a really great atmosphere with good food,drinks and good people that likes to have fun.
