So , I usually don't review salons. But I will say I've had a very shady experience. My usual stylist wasn't available so I went to this place. I think that was a mistake. I came for a silk press. It was supposed to be like $100, which probably ended up being 180 because my natural hair is coarse. My problem is that I didn't ask for a trim. She said I needed one. So I hesitantly agreed this is where I messed up. She obviously was not asking if I want a trim but saying she needs to do it so it won't look crazy (so she can cut too much hair off clearly) AFTER THE TRIM WAS ALMOST DONE SHE SAID SHE DOES EXTREME TRIMS THE FIRST TIME. I DIDN'T KNOW SHE CUTS EXCESSIVELY. THAT'S NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR. So , I already think way too much was trimmed off because I believe in trimming a smaller amount at a time because that is the best way to retain length when you have hair length goals. Cutting off 4-6 inches is just cutting off 1 year of hair growth, which is crazy unless your hair is extremely damaged. But She decided to give me layers without asking me. I don't like uneven hair. Any more than 2 inches isn't a trim that's actually a haircut. A trim is a half inch to 2 inches. Now, if i want to fix this, I have to cut MORE hair off or continue to let my hair grow uneven. I really don't understand the obsession with cutting hair in general but cutting it into layers without asking if that's what is wanted when I just agreed to a regular trim is pretty crazy..no stylist has ever trimmed my hair into layers. I have thick hair already. I don't need layers. I'm sorry, but I will never be coming back after two hairstylists notified me that my hair uneven because it was layered without permission. If someone pays you money, make sure it's what they asked for. It'll grow back, but it'll take a long time. If my hair wasn't already long, it would look short after this cut. So, she thought she could give me a layered haircut and I wouldn't notice without my permission because my hair was already long. I see why she wanted to trim it to ruin it. She clearly also doesn't want do natural hair so she suggested I put a borderline chemical in my hair that could damage it. I'm actually not letting anyone cut my hair again no matter how much they suggest a trim. If I get a silk press again. They just want EXTRA MONEY + to ruin your hair. Edit: instead of acknowledging what she did she's pretending like my usual stylist can't tell when hair has been layered. Okay..my hair wasn't this uneven before at all. There's photos of it. Then she was lifting my hair and cutting the same pieces over and over instead of one straight trim. She bumps my ends too when nobody does that now it's not 2006. That's why I couldn't see how uneven it was until I left. I just won't be getting any professional trims by anyone they loving cutting 1-2 years growth of healthy hair off. I can't risk that happening again. I can trim my own hair. A trim shouldn't even be able to tell its been cut, but it's obvious because like 5 inches are gone, and my stylist could tell. She offered to fix my but it can't be fixed. She can't bring the length back. It could take TWO YEARS for it to come back. All she can do is make it shorter, which I would never trust her again to cut my hair any type of way..should have thought of that before she cut it. Do hair stylists not think about how long hair takes to grow?? When you layer hair, it loses even more length. Should give my mom at least half her money back, honestly. But It's my fault for listening and going to this lady. I should have just refused to get my hair done or refuse the trim at least..now I just have to look stupid till it grows back. She'll probably just cut it super short to match the short pieces, and I'll pass. I should have trusted my gut when my hair wasn't even blown out, and she already was talking about a trim. I wanted to take a picture of my progress. Can't now.
Do not go here. She will not give you the hairstyle you ask for because she wants more money. She cut my mom's hair into layers without her even giving permission for a trim/cutting. And she cut so much hair off she no longer has a ponytail. That's not a trim it's a layered haircut. Imagine saying people need trims so they won't look crazy but then chopping their hair up into layers. The layers aren't even done well. Don't go here unless you want mental stress after she makes you look worse than when you came it. Just don't do it. Remember hair takes years to grow...she even cut her lace front in layers instead of an even trim. She glues wigs to hair edges even when you said no glue. So when it comes up it'll take out your edges with it. It came off on it's own.
I met with Crystal for the first time on June 27, 2020 to get my hair done. She did a fabulous job on my natural hair and the installation of my human hair wig. She was very nice and pleasant and knew exactly what she was doing. She made good suggestions which I do appreciate. I look forward to her doing my hair again. Thank you Crystal
Ms. Crystal did a fantastic job with my natural hair, she was patient and was able to give me the exact same style I wanted from a picture. She also took time and gave me some pointers and tips for how to care for my natural hair.
Crystal takes very good care of her clients. Educates them on how to keep your hair healthy. Very polite, sweet and very educated.
