I loved my order it was exactly what I ask for . It is my first time ordering here but believe the best mash potatoes I have try in Boston and the grilled chicken was a bomb of flavor and the asparagus I can believe I eat them I'm not a fan but when I try them me and my daughter eat all them. I can't wait to order my second order with. Different plate to make this restaurant my favorite.
Atmosphere was great. However their mofongo tasted like burnt hair, yes burnt hair. They soaked it in some garlic oil, idk if they had burned the garlic or what, but from someone whom loves to eat mofongo, they definitely did not do a good job. The only thing that bothered me was that I didn’t even bother to read the bill until after I left, and I guess the waiter tips themselves 20% of your bill instead of allowing you to choose the tip, so I ended up leaving extra tip and hadn’t noticed till I got home. Kinda rude for them to charge you an amount to cover the waiter’s expectations, instead of allowing the customer to tip based on service. Not from the area, I saw this place on TikTok, wanted to try it. So at the end of the day, no it wasn’t horrible, but it did not meet expectations so I will not be going back unless it’s just for some shots at the bar.
Customer Service 5 stars Food 5 stars Affordability 5 stars A hidden gem. Highly recommend We were greeted nicely and brought to a clean table. Our waiter was very nice and accommodating. The music was good and the food was delicious. It was great portions and seasoned perfectly. There was barely a wait time, the drinks and food came out in reasonable times. The street corn was very good, it was cheezy and tasted amazing. We also got Honey Hot wings, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! The Mofongo and with the Caribbean Hot Baked Chicken was very good. We was very pleased with the drinks, the titles of the drinks were hilarious. I will definitely be coming back.
Do not have too much fun if you visit this place + bland food and high priced weak drinks. I was in town as a guest of Harvard University and I was looking for a black owned restaurant to support. It pains me to say that while I spent over $240 (including a very generous tip) on one poorly seasoned meal and a few weak drinks which were shared with patrons of the establishment, I was denied service because I was dancing to the music too much and was later told that this was an “in your seat” establishment. Even though I was friendly with the owner, the manager, and security who all seemed to have no problem with me… I was denied further service. I don’t not cause a scene, yet I was made to feel so uncomfortable that I left on my own accord. I was not thrown out. But I was made to feel as though I was not welcomed which really hurt because I wanted to support another minority owned business, yet I left feeling taken advantage of and ashamed that I even wen there in the first place.
Our server was so amazing! We asked several questions about different drinks and food items on the menu. Got very real, honest answers and everything we ended up getting was delicious! Will definitely come back!
