I moved away from Lansing just a few months before Sweet Encounter opened. I was sad about missing out on a dedicated gluten free establishment. After a few years, I finally came back and got to experience this joy. Everything. EV.ER.Y.THING. is outstanding. I got the pumpkin roll, lemon raspberry cupcake, blueberry lemon cupcake, peach cobbler cupcake, and a brownie. I regret nothing (except maybe finger protection because I got so much frosting all over myself). This bakery is truly a gift and so good and I am so happy to have visited and will absolutely be returning and make a fair few shipped orders. Thank you for making my morning delicious. You sweetened my day.
OMG the chickpea sandwich is to die for! Have been seriously craving it since I ate it! I also highly recommend the peach cobbler muffin. As a baker myself I don't generally buy baked goods out as I am often disappointed. This muffin was incredible the next day so I imagine it would be even better fresh baked! Also staff are super friendly!
My sister-in-law picked us up an 8in vanilla salted caramel cake for our wedding shower and it was one of the best cakes I’ve eaten. Great balance and the salted touch was really really pleasant. It was also beautifully decorated, but simplistic all at the same time.
Friendly owners. Lots of vegan options such as cupcakes, cakes, cookies, dessert bars, brownies, muffins, and sandwiches. Dollar off cupcakes on Thursdays. The cupcakes are a must-try!
I can’t say enough good things about this gluten-free & allergy friendly cafe downtown! My first time there & the customer service was amazing & the atmosphere was so calm and enjoyable. Their GF mac n cheese was PERFECT! I thought it couldn’t get any better until I had a bite of the GF carrot cake. Thank y’all for truly making my day sweeter. 🧁
