We chose this hotel knowing it had an indoor pool and restaurant. Both were closed for repair / remodel yet nothing was said on their website. This was very disappointing for my family. Also, the door to our room did not completely close on its own. We had to physically pull on the door handle or push from the inside to securely latch the door. EDIT: In response to your response regarding the closed restaurant and pool, are you to say I need to call every Radisson (or other hotel) I stay at to confirm the availability of each amenity? I'm sorry but I find that a bit ridiculous. After all, isn't that what websites are for? It's my opinion you don't put that info on your site so people will still book. In essence, it's easier to ask for forgiveness than provide the info up front. If a guest is able to book their stay online through the Radisson (or other) portal, that portal should contain any information that could contradict any known printed information on said site / portal. Your above response has now made me re-think my 2 star review. I think I was a bit too generous.
The hotel itself was under some construction. Our room was decent sized and very clean with a great view of the Arena. The room had a little coffee machine and refrigerator, and the microwave is available only by request. We did have an issue with the shower slowly draining. We informed the front desk and was told maintenance would come to fix it. They showed up an hour before we were checking out the next day.
The rooms need some refurbishing. They're not bad but my bathroom had cracked/peeling drywall on the ceiling corner. It would be nice to have a microwave in the room, too. Also, the TV didn't work.
Hotel located in the capital of Lansing, don't look for amenities or stellar services, you won't find them here ,beyond the ridiculous lodging price, they wanted to charge an extra $208 dollars for incidentals, it was a one night lodging, No parking on site ,but of course this was not in the hotel description, parking is an additional $15 per night in parking structure across from hotel.staff was less than amenable. Needless to say, this made my one night stay to attend an event, quite inconvenient. I would not stay here again.
I checked into my room a little before midnight after attending the Jazz fest in Lansing. I had already pre-booked the room online. The man working the front desk gave me a key for a room, then told it might be another room number and then sent to my room. The key did not work for the room number written on the card so I checked the initial room number that was scribbled out and the door opened! Unfortunately, there was a man undressing in front of the door who yelled for me to "come back" when I ran away startled. I alerted the front desk attendant who then gave my husband and I keys to a different room. The keys opened the door and there was yet another man undressing. We left that room to go turn in the keys and see what was going on. After some time, we were given keys to yet another room - and this time security checked to make sure no one was in there before we went to the room. This was an awful, not to mention scary experience. I did not feel safe during my stay.
