Had a chance to step into the One Love Lounge and try out some of their dishes. It's always great to find another restaurant that specializes in Caribbean cuisine. The music is also on point. I haven't had an opportunity to attend one of the live entertainment shows, but we'll see what the future holds. So here's the hard part: the response to customer feedback is cringe worthy. There is nothing more upsetting for potential clients to read than argumentative responses from a business. These responses are part of the customer experience and it makes it extremely difficult to support a business that responds in that manner. Graciousness goes a long way.
We just went out to try this place as we’ve seen it in driving a couple time. This was the worse experience we’ve had since moving to Texas a few months ago. Firstly, no Jamaicans worked here, this should have been the first red flag. We ordered 2 fish meal which are done to order. We ordered 1 escovich fish with Rice and peas, the other was brown stew fish with white rice. We sat for at least an hour and a half and it was dead in there, maybe 4 ppl outside of us (Got there around 6:30pm, left 9:05) we had planned to dine in but took it to go because of the wait. Firstly, the fish wasn’t scaled properly, and the food tasted horrible. The person cooking simply isn’t accustomed to Jamaican food. We also found chicken bones In the brown stew box as if they used chicken gravy on the fish. Needless to say we threw these away. Wasted $90 which includes an auto 15% gratuity. Don’t waste your money ppl. And for this establishment, stop using Jamaican culture without respecting it.
Oxtails and Curry Chicken is delicious!! The chef did a great job, and I plan to visit again.!!!! 17 June visit: The music was entirely too loud. The waitress was unable to hear my order. I will make sure not to go when live music is on the schedule. It did not have to be that loud at all. I finally ordered, but I decided to get it to go instead of enjoying my food there.
We had lunch here . I ordered the oxtail , rice and cabbage. The oxtails were tender and very tasty. And the owner made me a mango margarita that was so good I ordered another. We also ordered the goat curry and it was seasoned so well and it too was tender. We finished our meal with a slice of rum cake. It was moist and warm , and the rum was strong and present lol. The owner is friendly, the atmosphere is a whole vibe and the food was worth it. I left happy 😊
Came here had amazing service and great food. The jerk macaroni is amazing and the goat meat was tender!! Did not have a gamey smell at all.. great ambience definitely would come back
