My first time visiting Cool Runnings and I’m so glad I found this place. Ordered Stewed Chicken with cabbage and yellow rice. The stewed chicken is so tender and flavorful, the cabbage is seasoned just right and the rice soaks up the juices from the chicken and all of it goes so well together. My friend ordered Jerk Chicken and Curried Goat. He also got a side of Callaloo. He demolished it all!! He’s not talking - too busy eating lol! We also ordered lemonade and two Bahama Mamas. Do yourselves a favor and hit up this spot - you will not be disappointed!!
Now I have tried all the Jamaican spots and this one right here is the place to go!!! Now the pictures here are curry goat (yellow) and oxtails both with cabbage and rice and peas. And the beef patties….scrumptious!!! This is a must place to visit if you are near Waldorf, MD I also tried the strawberry cake with Henessy…..a must try if you like Henessy. But the carrot cake is my favorite! And there are all of the classic Jamaican drinks if you are missing a taste of home, including sorrel juice and dragon stout
The food here is so delicious. Every time my husband and I come we are greeted by Ms. Angela with a warm welcome and a smile. Cool Running is the best place to dine for delicious authentic Caribbean dishes in Charles County. And I mean the best place for true authentic curry chicken , which is my favorite.
First time going here and wanted to like it. Food was mediocre. Small amount of chicken stew. The cabbage and beef patty were good. Customer service could be better. There was a gentleman working helping customers. While I waited another lady with close cut hair walked in started talking to a Jamaican customer, did not acknowledge me barely said hi when I spoke first.She proceeded to talk to the other customer who had already ordered even though I was waiting to place my order. I had to speak up and say I haven’t ordered as she was just chatting with the other customer…My order was in a smaller box maybe the lunch potion but still was 17$. When she asked me what rice I wanted, I asked her what kind of rice do you have and she made a funny face as if I was stupid. (Still didn’t give me the correct rice) she made my food then gave it to me and proceeded to keep speaking to the other customer. Never said bye, have a good day, or thank you. But she made sure and asked the gentleman working there “did she sign the receipt”. Wanted to like based on some other reviews but customer service is just as important as well as getting something as easy as the rice correct. If they didn’t have what I ordered she should of let me know, I didn’t like the red beans and rice at all. Unfortunately I didn’t check because I wanted to leave quick due to the uninviting atmosphere. Addendum:: not sure why a NONOWNER is replying to my review because she has no business replying below. You are from the islands so of course you will support your own. I have no problem with anyone but you two were chatting away when other customers needed help..There are MANY reviews that speak of the poor customer service here, so I am not the first and will not be the last. You being able to put your nose in this review speaks volumes. If you a are customer stay in your lane…
