Mikki’s cafe served some good soul food with hefty portions and great service. The staff were super friendly and thoughtful throughout the entire experience. The restaurant itself was going under renovation, which resulted in limited seating and it was warm inside. So it would be best to take your food to go, which I didn’t mind. I ordered the smothered pork chops with Mac and cheese and greens. Everything was seasoned just right and I felt like I was eating a home cooked meal. I really liked my smothered pork chop, but one was cooked to perfection and the other was overcooked. The Mac and cheese was real good and I enjoyed the greens. I would stop by if I’m in the neighborhood and craving some soul food done right.
I have to eat here every time I visit Houston. One time I drove from Fort Worth just to eat for the weekend. The food is always on point. The staff is always friendly and fast. This place honestly could not get any better. I’m from Mississippi originally and this place feels like I’m back home in Grandma’s Kitchen.
Over the top flavor! I mean layers of flavor in every bite. Everything from the Fish, Smothered Chicken, Meatloaf, Beef Tips, TurkeyWings…and MORE was full of flavor. It was 3 of us in our party and we dined in, the atmosphere was inviting and friendly and even a bit cozy! We had an amazing time and the plates was filled to capacity with food. You have to bring your appetite to finish all the food they put on your plate! It’s a bit pricey $$$$ but we’ll worth it. Two people can definitely eat and share one plate! Give this place a try and thank me later.
Mikkis Soul Food exceeded my expectations with their friendly customer service and delectable dishes. From the warm greeting to the flavorful oxtails. It was a delightful experience overall. Highly recommended!
Where do I even begin. Flavor is everything and not a single part of this meal was bland. Rich slow cooked goodness in every bite! Highly recommend you check them out I know I wasn’t to try much more on their menu after this incredible meal!
