My fiancé and I booked a large room block with the Renaissance Flat irons back in January of 2023, our wedding was in town near the hotel, August 2023. We booked this hotel because it is in an ideal location and was being newly renovated. Back in January, we were promised to have most of our rooms on the same floor as each other for the wedding weekend (we had all of our groomsmen, bridesmaids, and family staying at this hotel for a minimum of two nights). When I called the week of the wedding, I was told none of our rooms were on the same floor, and that the hotel was sold out that weekend so there was nothing they could do, but they would try their best to put the bride and grooms' room near each other. After checking in to several rooms, only two rooms were on the same floor. The bride and all other rooms were super spread-out among the floors of the hotel. We made do with the rooms we got, even though they were so spread out. The bride's executive suite was on the top floor, far away from everyone which was not requested (we asked for the brides room to be with the bridesmaids ahead of time), along with her rooms toilet that only worked half of the time we were there. On Day of wedding, we had a few family members request early check in (we knew ahead of time early check in was NOT guaranteed and were told if we talked to the desk day of we could get a yes or no answer on early check in) The bride and bride's sister made a point to go downstairs to the front desk early morning while getting ready to ask for her sister to get early check in that day. The front desk assured us that she could check in at 2pm (an hour before the wedding). Several times I asked to make sure she was going to be able to get the early check in and the front desk said "absolutely." My sister made a special trip back to the hotel from the venue to check into her hotel room before the wedding. The front desk had a different attendant who told her there is no way she can check in early and that she has to wait until 4pm like everyone else. She was also told that just because she is in the wedding party, doesn't mean she gets special treatment. The day of the wedding, I called the front desk to ask if they could accommodate for 25 people to eat their buffet breakfast for the following morning (we wanted to have a special morning after wedding breakfast with friends and family staying in the hotel). The hotel assured me that there are no minimums and that they could easily accommodate a big party and put us down for a reservation. When we arrived at breakfast the next day, the waitress was extremely rude and told two of our guests they could not drink the water at the table if they were not paying for the buffet. When it came time to pay, she informed us that she could only split the check two ways. Unfortunately, this became a stressful situation as we were not aware of this rule and had to find a way to pay with two different credit cards for over 25 people ($1,000+ worth of food). I understand this makes it easier on the waitress, however it should have been communicated beforehand. With all of this being said, I called their director of sales the following week to calmly explain our frustration with our weekend stay, as it was a stressful experience that should not be added on to the plate of a bride and should be the last thing she should have to worry about. The sales director offered us 5,000 rewards points. We asked her what that would do for us, and she told us it takes 40,000+ points for just a one-night stay. I went into more detail of the issues we dealt with, and she said she would call us back with another offer. We waited 1.5 weeks and never heard back. After calling her again she said they cannot do anything besides grant 5,000 points. I am sure this hotel is great for couples or small families, but if you plan on bringing a big group in or doing a wedding block, I would definitely find another hotel who will take time to listen to your concerns, keep their promises, and have better customer service.
Really loved the location and the view was beautiful. Our room was really nice. We did not hear anyone around us or above us the 3 days we were there on the 6th floor. Pool was nice and clean. Staff was super friendly and helpful.
Great staff, fantastic rooms and very comfy beds. I have shoulder issues so a good bed is a must! They have a Starbucks inside which is awesome and a restaurant. They recently went through a remodel and the hotel feels updated. Great views location and parking lot feels safe and secure. Kim at the desk is awesome. They are not pet friendly.
2.5 star hotel dressed up as 4 stars. Almost everything was a little bit broken. The worst was the bathroom door hardware was installed backwards so it locked from the outside and just pushed open regardless. The tv didn’t face the bed or the couch so there was no comfortable way to look at it. Only one outlet and one table for two beds. Everywhere you looked you found little things that were either incorrectly installed or just broken. Breakfast was overpriced. Very much not worth the cost to stay there.
Great hotel and nice nights stay. We had a 2 queen bed suite, with very comfortable beds, great pillows (always a worry at hotels), nice separate living area. The whole property is in good shape, fitness center is large with everything you need. Service at check-in was very good, with a hand-written note thanking me for staying there and a coupon for free breakfast buffets for 2.
