It was a great stay. Great location in downtown, nice amenities, breakfast included, strong water pressure, variety of television channels, and good central air system. Very clean and extremely nice staff. Didn't rate a 10 because the only parking option available was VIP at $45 dollars per night. That was very expensive and not disclosed at the time of the booking. Luckily, I found street metered parking very close by. Overall, it was an extremely nice stay and a great value for a good rate.
A good value for the money. Nothing fancy, but clean and quiet with a comfortable bed and a shower with good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Complimentary breakfast in the morning offered a decent selection of items, though the coffee was not good. That’s ok though, cause there’s a Starbucks right next door. This part of the city seems to be especially dead with very little to do, but that probably contributed to the quietness of the hotel. We Ubered to a few places when we first checked in and that got expensive very quickly, so we ended up walking to where we wanted to go for the remainder of our stay. Pleasant staff. Overall a positive experience.
The staff were wonderful! (so perhaps it's more a 3 1/2 stars) The breakfast was good and fresh. The room was clean, though a bit worn. The window, though, had NO soundproofing, so every shout, siren, truck and motorcycle, at all hours, sound right next to you, disrupting work and sleep. It was a bit of a hike to the convention center(in Houston heat), so the name is misleading. Our group arrived everyday all sweaty. Limited food options near by, though I do recommend Del Sol and Brunch B when they are open.
HIGHLY disappointed to say the least! I had a reservation for 2 rooms. When I checked in only one was available at that time. I specifically asked if I could have 2 rooms beside or near each other(traveling with children) and he said he’d assign me 507 & 508. 508 was waiting to be cleaned. Checked 2 more times before heading out and he stated 3 o’clock. Get back to check in and 508 was given to someone else. The night mgr said no worries since I’m assigning you 522 I’ll move your other room to 519 they are close… WRONG… they were further apart on two different halls! Fine I just rearranged the ppl in the rooms. Came down the next morning and explained this to the mgr Ariel.. she stated for the inconvenience she would comp me enough points for a free night. Ok fine… being this is all she offered. I also valeted at $45 a night… and when I parked my car I left 3 raising cane GIFTCARDs in the door WITH the raising canes receipt. Requested the car and yoooou guessed it the cards are gone.. the receipt was left! That made me even more furious! I spent almost $800 on rooms and would have been $100 on parking for the employees to steal my stuff… spoke with the mgr jarret who assured Id hear from him on Wednesday when he was back in the office. As of 7:33pm on THURSDAY I haven’t heard from him. No card replacements but he did waive the parking..which he should have.. now, back to Ariel.. checked my profile today and y’all she added a whopping 400 points for my inconvenience! A complete slap in the face! So just a heads up! Now, Springhill which is is the same complex I’ve never had an issue with but this one.. definitely not recommended so proceed with caution as you’ve been warned!
Rooms need a bit of updating but overall the place was clean and quiet. Probably the friendliest hotel staff I have ever experienced. Breakfast buffet was great!
