Easy to find not very far off the freeway located in the middle of downtown. I had a studio with a king and the room was adequate in size. Mixed customer service. The first person I encountered wasn't even at the desk. I had to search around for this person and she seemed quite annoyed that I wanted to check in. The second person I encountered was at the desk and very pleasant. Okay, the downside of staying here: - parking. NO self parking and parking was 40% of my bill! Absolutely outrageous. I cannot think of ever staying at a place, include Marriott's, where there was no option to self park. And the parking fee is not nominal. For that reason alone, I would see out other establishments. - room placement; I was placed on the second floor... right next to the room where they serve complimentary breakfast. So, good luck sleeping in and relaxing. - when did hotels stop providing water? I arrived late in the evening and was very thirsty. But no complimentary bottled water in the room. Again, given the cost of the room AND parking, to not provide at least a bottle or two of water is horrible. And there was no machine on the floor to get bottled water. I had to go to the main floor where the price of a single bottle of water is about the cost of buying a case at your local grocery store. - I remember when Marriott's use to provide very plush and comfortable beds. Not here at this location. Just a hard, stiff bed. - TV remote; just a basic remote and the only way to find out what channels you can watch are to just flip through the channels. No menu, no guide to the channels. Would never stay here again.
I love the Marriott brand in general; unfortunately the Springhill Suites Downtown did not live up to the Marriott Brand. I stay in Marriott whenever I travel to include when I stay locally downtown. The first problem was the air conditioner was not working in my room. The maintenance person came and reset it. I woke up at 1:30 am and it was 84 degrees in my room and the air conditioner was set at 60 degrees. I am local so I left. I was told that it would be noted on the reservation. I had two rooms book that night and my daughter was in another room. I look at my credit card bill and it looks like I have been billed twice for one room. I am nearly certain of it because I was only credited for one night's stay as a member. I have not received a call nor e-mail regarding this. I am in the process of e-mailing the manager. I left a telephone message for the manager at the front desk and was told that someone would be in contact. I never received a call back. At the end of the week, still not response and now to discover that I have been billed twice for one room. Closing the loop is so important.
Had a great stay here. I had several interactions with staff and they were all very professional and friendly. The room was nice and it was ice cold which was great in this unbearable Texas heat. Room was clean, shower was nice and the bath products provided were wonderful. The breakfast was really good with a nice variety. The valet parking was a little pricey but considering the location I think that is just the norm. I've stayed at several Marriott properties and this one certainly lived up to what I've come to expect from them. Definitely somewhere I would stay again without hesitation.
Stay was great! I had an issue with Valet service as it was a bit slow in the morning . I really appreciate Watson for coming through and providing great service and making sure i caught my next flight. He is amazing 10/10
This was a great location. 20 min walk to the Minute Maid to watch the concert. Rooms were laid out weird. Desk was so close to the bed so I could not sit in the chair. Great restaurants on main street. Check in was delayed and staff could smile more but they did what they could.
