If you are considering this hotel for your wedding hotel, I would recommend that you reconsider. They are a mess! They are very weird about early check-in, even for the wedding party. On our second day they gave a family keys to our room and the gentleman walked in on us while we were naked. They said we weren't supposed to be in the room. We were booked for two nights. We were told the manager would call us. Then that evening our cards didn't work. Once again we were told the manager would call us. Also, my sister had the shuttle book that evening from her wedding venue and of course they didn't show up. Still no word from the manager. The rooms are clean so that is definitely a plus. But if you are on the highway side, it is very very loud!
This is a nice Marriott with renovated rooms in a convenient location just off I-25. Best of all, they have outstanding service! The front desk staff is friendly, always say hi and seem to sincerely mean it when they ask if they can help or wish you a good day. I checked in on a Friday and asked about the concierge lounge. They apologized that it was closed on the weekend and gave me free breakfast for my whole party for the weekend. And I want to especially recognize Michelle in the restaurant. She took amazing care of us, fried us eggs, and gave us advice on local activities. She was wonderful and truly made us feel cared for.
My husband and I stayed here our wedding night since it was close to our venue and couldn’t have been happier with our room and service! The staff really went out of their way to make sure we had a special stay, and when I realized I had lost my necklace after we checked out they were so fast to go find it for me and keep it in an envelope until I could pick it up at the front desk. The room was also very clean and nice, had a comfy bed and big shower with good water pressure!
Overall a good Marriott hotel with a lounge. It is definitely starting to show its age. The rooms are just okay. The gym and pool are forgettable. The restaurant does actually serve pretty good food and drinks. The staff are excellent; if it weren't for them, this property would be in trouble.
After my 2 day business stay, I realized that the corporate AMEX I provided upon check in had NOT been used to settle my $468 hotel bill, instead my personal card was charged. I then called the hotel directly, and followed instructions to submit a request to change the charges from my personal card to my AMEX. Three days and 3 phone calls later - being told that 'a manager would take care of it today' STILL nothing was happening. I finally called a 4th time to talk to a manager directly and got a story about how changes on their end with the credit card system and the refund rules associated were the hold up. Tired of getting the run around I asked that they leave payment as is, and I'd figure out on my end with our corporate policy. The bottom line is customer service could use some attention at this property. And that goes beyond just being polite, I would challenge staff to actually be problem solvers or at minimum, call a customer back when you say that you are going to. That's just common business sense. This entire process should have been managed better especially for a LOYAL Platinum Elite Member. I will not staying here nor recommending this hotel to my colleagues despite it's proximity to the office.
