I stayed here 4 years ago and loved it ,so I booked it for my son and his wife for their anniversary.we loved the location and restaurant and bar and music. What disappointing thing to hear that neither the restaurant or bar was open. The hotel is good and the location is good .But had I known that the restaurant and bar were closed I would have booked elsewhere for their first experience in New Orleans . I don’t feel I got what I paid for!
The location was great, just a block away from Burbon St and (about) 8 min walk from the square. The staff was very friendly and we were able to call the front desk to get extra supplies and the valet to get our car ready before we walked down. My only complaint was the room. It felt like the AC never really got our room cold, and there was barely any lighting in the room. The tub also didn't drain properly when we showered.
Hotel is within reasonable walking distance of all the bars and restaurants, but be aware if you need to go anywhere of distance this hotel is operating a slightly shady money-making scheme. They don’t proudly advertise it but they basically force you to valet park with them at the cost of $50 a night. The parking lot they park your car in isn’t anything special either, it’s literally just a barely hidden parking lot that’s just across the street. I didn’t have any issues with them retrieving our car when we needed it but at the same time, I could have easily parked and retrieved my own vehicle, it did not require any special type of skill to park in the valet parking area. Other than that the hotel was okay. Beds were on the hard side, toilet was finicky, if you limp wrist the handle it’s not going to flush. AC did a good job of keeping us cool. We only stayed a couple of days so I can’t speak on room service, we never needed it.
Rooms 5/5 they're clean, have a rustic/local vibe. The bathroom was updated. We had a balcony that was shared with 2 other rooms, so be sure to keep the door locked. Service 5/5: The lobby is clean, and the staff is friendly. The pool closes at 10, but that's a good thing because it sits in the middle of the open hotel area so everyone can hear the splashing and ruckus going on. There is valet parking that was $51 for overnight gated parking. When we needed to get something out of the vehicle, they were friendly about it even though the parking was super tight (see video). Location 5/5: It's one street over from Bourbon street so it's extremely close to everything and all the festivities. The downside to this is that we heard alot of vehicles revving and roaring down the streets.
If you are searching for a wedding venue that captures the charm of the quarter, look no further. The location is great and away from the noise of bourbon. We blocked rooms and would highly recommend. The Beinville Suite was beautiful and added that special touch to our preparation pictures. Thank you Lizzy and Lauren for making our day unforgettable.
