Hotel is a convenient location to everything. You must use the valet to park your car. Not a problem, however They weren't expecting us to be standing outside when they came around the corner speeding and peeling out . Another time the valet was making some sort of deal in the bushes with a gentleman and 3 of us waited about 20 minutes until he was done. We were also told there were certain times for dinner and breakfast. The Times were also posted. We got there for breakfast and told we could no longer do breakfast orders we had to do the buffet, The breakfast was open another hour the buffet was extremely cold yet no one cared. The same thing happened with dinner. It was supposed to be open another hour but we were told only take out was available. So I would say service is a little lacking in these areas. The rooms were nice, the hotel was very busy. At night people were running through the hotel hallways at 2 and 3 in the morning. I'm unsure if there was security in the building but this went on for several nights.I don't think I would stay at this location again.
I had an excellent three night stay here recently and would recommend it to anyone who needs to be near the convention center or cruise terminal. I just needed an affordable place to stay in walking distance to a few bars and restaurants, somewhat centrally located, and this fit the bill perfectly. The only downside is that there is no free (or relatively affordable) breakfast option here. Weigh your choice against the nearby Hampton Inn if free breakfast is of value to you. The service was always helpful at the front desk and free housekeeping was available on a request basis. The lobby area was always clean, as was my room upon check-in. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked well keeping up with the incredible heat while I was there. The room felt as if it had been recently renovated, almost spotless. The lobby had a convenience store of sorts which could be purchased at the front desk. It even included bottles of booze! There's a back patio (smoker's porch) for relaxing as well as a rooftop pool that I didn't visit as well.
A typical 3 star hotel. Nothing fancy. Checked-in early at like 9am but they weren’t expecting anyone to check in, so I waited like 15 mins for someone to show up to check in and drop off my luggage. As a Hilton Honors member you can pick your room ahead of time. I did request for an earlier room and they were kind enough to accommodate me. Beware walls are a bit thin, you will hear your neighbors pull up the blinds or their late night talks.
Great hotel with excellent service and plenty of amenities! The staff was very helpful and friendly! Clean lobby and lots of seating throughout. On-site restaurant and bar with a rooftop pool as well. Rooms were very clean and had a great view of the cruise ships in port a few blocks away. Prices were reasonable and affordable. Walking distance to many businesses and restaurants including museums and attractions! Safe and secure with nearby parking. Highly recommend staying here before a cruise or anytime you are in the downtown New Orleans area!
Do yourself a favor and DON’T BOOK HERE. They don’t serve breakfast in the morning and you have to pay for parking. It’s $45 a day to use their parking and $20 across the street. Not only did we have to pay for parking but our car got broken into right across the street from the hotel. I know that this is a dangerous/crime ridden place to be, and the hotel isn’t necessarily responsible. BUT BEWARE OF THIS. You might want to find a place where your car and belongings are going to be a little more secure.
