Even though this is a great hotel, but the staff are not good especially the front desk. The Latino woman working at the front desk is not friendly. We want to leave our staff at the hotel, she was displeased and said like we are out of space but actually the are still room for our carry-on baggage. The hotel is in downtown, so the location is really great but not close to metro station. Washington monument and white house are 30 minutes walk. There are a lot of restaurants nearby. The breakfast is good. You can get scrambled eggs, fruits, coffee, milk, bagels and so on.
I stayed here 2 months for business. After a while the staff all knew my name and greeted me when I got back from work. Anna and Jarada were especially warm and friendly. It’s a great location near metro stations, restaurants and a Whole Foods. The room was spacious and I used the kitchen to cook a lot. I just wish there were more than 2 laundry machines and 2 dryers for the entire hotel. I would stay here again.
The room was nice but needed more working outlets or USB ports as well as garbage cans. A night light would have been nice as well. It is NOT a 15 minute walk from the Smithsonian Museums (staff said 15-20 minutes), more like 45 minutes, unless they are counting one of the lesser museums. Parking is super expensive; better to park at one of the lots. We parked at a lot on Vermont and paid half price. The staff was excellent, very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was OK, with some variety each day.
A friend and I stayed here for 10 nights recently. We wanted to split the bill and each pay half. We checked in around 4:30pm. The woman at the front desk said at first we could not split the bill and then remembered that it could be done. So my friend had a $1546.05 pending charge. I had a $1646.05 on my card pending which was the $1546.05 plus the $100 incidental charge should there be any. The $1646.05 pending charge stayed on my bank account until Fri 9/22 when my bank got involved. We had checked out 9/16. So...on check out the amount of room fee was $1596.05 for each of us. The guy at the hotel front desk was of no help. I'm just wondering why the extra $100 between the two of us. We did not use any extra services. The hotel is fine, staff friendly except for one woman on the front desk in the morning. Quite condescending. About 5 blocks from the Metro, CVS close by, Whole foods, construction next door but we did not hear it. Breakfast OK but not hot. Wed evening happy hour. Lighting in powder room area very dim. Great shower. Bed OK. Sleeper sofa could be upgraded.
Booked a 2 queen suite online with Hilton app. Check in was at 4pm. Arrived at 4 15pm and was told our room was not ready but that we could change rooms...I didn't mind as long as it was the same type of room. Was given room 625...I don't believe the beds were queen size as I believe they were double beds, which I did not notice until going to bed later that night and my 6'8 husband and I hardly fit comfortably. When we got up the next morning and went down for blast, spoke to front desk and the lady graciously offered to move us rooms but further into our conversation realized she thought I meant we had one bed, not a double size bed and she then said we are in a queen room so we didn't change. Beds are not the best but okay. Breakfast is decent, not the warmest. .eggs, meat, potato as well as bagels, toast and muffins, cereal and oatmeal. Cleaning staff showed up at 830am one morning stating they had us as checking out (which is not until 11am anyways) but just told her we still had another day and she moved on. Lights are pretty dim, especially around mirror/sink area. Location is okay, not super familiar with the area but it was showing as 25 min walk to national mall area so we took many Lyft rides, which there are plenty of. Not sure the hotel was worth the price but it was okay. Valet parking available.
