My absolute favorite place. Cute and welcoming Cafe. Everything on the menu is amazing. They have dope vibes, clothing, accessories but nothing tops the food. The black eyed pea and collard green soup is amazing!
We happened on this great neighborhood place while waiting for a noir festival across the street at the Redford. If you’re ever in the area, this place is well worth a stop. It’s tiny but the food is wonderful and all the people are helpful and friendly. I had the whole wings dinner and loved the wings (hot and fresh) with 2 sides (fried corn - yum - and definitely-not-from-a-box mac&cheese).
If you have a sweet tooth that craves delightful and unique treats, Sweet Potato Sensations is the place to be. This cozy little restaurant tucked away in a corner of town has captured my heart with its mouthwatering desserts and comforting atmosphere. Although the name suggests a focus on sweet potatoes, there is so much more to this culinary gem. Upon entering, you're greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance. The rustic decor, combined with the aroma of freshly baked goods, immediately puts you at ease. The friendly staff adds to the overall charm of the place, always ready with a smile and recommendations for your dessert cravings. The menu at Sweet Potato Sensations boasts a diverse array of options, ranging from traditional sweet potato pies to inventive creations that push the boundaries of flavor. While the savory food options are enjoyable, it's the desserts that truly steal the show. As a frequent visitor, I find myself consistently spending more on desserts than the main courses. The sweet potato pie is an absolute must-try; the velvety smooth filling and perfectly flaky crust are the stuff of dreams. The lemon chess pie is my fav after 2-3 bites I keep eating until a slight tummy ache, that’s when I know I’ve done it right.
The place is amazing! I was disappointed they didn't have sweet potato ice cream, and really haven't had it for the last two months. There are so many great items to try. I really like that they have individual serving sizes, so I can buy them all. The sweet potato chocolate chip cookie has good flavor. The edges were bit hard, but the center was soft and great. There are walnuts in the cookie, it would be nice to know that up front. I'm not sure I would have bought it if I knew there were nuts in the cookie. I'll be back to try more again.
Sweet potato everything!! My family has been going to this place for a while to buy pies but I decided to give the food a chance. I ordered the fried turkey chop with large sweet potato pancakes and sweet potato fries. My carry out order took a bit long to come but it was still hot and fresh when I got home. As recommend by the cashier, the Fried Turkey Chops we're definitely the way to go!!!! The pancakes were huge and delicious, and the grits we're just as good. Glad to know there's good food in the area.
