Retaining Misha to support me through my divorce is one of the best decisions I’ve made! I included the top five reasons Misha is one of Arlington’s best divorce lawyers below. 1. He is excellent at setting expectations. One of the most common pieces of advice I received from family and friends was to “screw” over my ex, because if I didn’t, he would end up “screwing me” over. While my divorce was far from amicable, Misha kept it 100% transparent about what I was likely to get or not get with the caveat that anything is possible in family court. He stressed the fact that if we both settled feeling a little disappointed, but felt the outcome was fair, it should be seen as a win. Ultimately, all the decisions I made regarding what was proposed in the custody agreement and asset settlement followed Misha’s guidance. At one point my ex was trying to give me much less than my fair share, which I was considering in an effort to wrap up the divorce early, but Misha encouraged me to push back, and I ended up getting 3x more than I would have if I settled with the initial offer. He also brought me back to reality when I got upset about my exes parenting style, like feeding our toddler pop tarts 😊. 2. Extremely detail oriented and organized. I am amazed at Misha’s attention to detail, organizational skills, and memory! My ex hired an expensive veteran team of lawyers who fumbled key details, while Misha remembered minute details of the case that ended up supporting our position on an important decision that went in our favor. In conversations over the span of a year, I never needed to repeat details I had already shared. It’s obvious he takes impressive notes and spends lots of time and effort preparing for his clients. He also has a very sophisticated system for organizing documents for clients in OneDrive that was amazing for collecting discovery. 3. Easy to reach via email, phone, or text. I can’t think of a time when it took Misha more than 24 hours to respond to me. He is always available to take a call or respond to an email. 4. Reasonable rate and transparent about billing. Misha is far from inexpensive, but I feel like I got more than what I paid for. He was sensitive to my financial situation and made an effort to keep costs down. Additionally, all of his invoices all seemed reasonable. 5. Overall good person who has his client’s back. Misha is more that an amazing lawyer, he has become a good friend. He is empathetic and supportive – divorce is tough and having someone who you feel you trust and has your back is essential. At the same time, he is a no-nonsense negotiator that has little patience for lawyers that take the "screw over your ex while I bill you a ton of hours, even though I know you will likely not get the outcome you want" strategy.
I had Misha Lopez represent me in a very tough case and to say that he was amazing would be an understatement. He is someone that you definitely want in your corner fighting your battles. In my humble opinion, he completely outshined the opposing counsel. We ended up settling the case the day before trial and it was a desired result. He knows the Law and, again, you definitely want him on your side.

Mikhail "Misha" Lopez was a true GODSEND, he agreed to take my case only after my previous lawyer dropped me 5 days before my trial date. In spite of the extreme short notice he handled my case like an absolute champion, he was extremely well prepared, he went over everything with me and explained it all thoroughly. On the court date he litigated on my behalf as if his life depended on it. With only 2 days to prepare he won the case and got me compensated for my legal expenses.
