The food here was absolutely mind-blowing. Easily the best cauliflower wings I’ve ever had. The food was cooked fast and I love that the restaurant is family owned! The owner chatted with us for a bit. There’s cool artwork on the walls to purchase. I cannot praise this place enough! My non-veg family loved the food here too. The fries portions were huge and delicious!
Listen. Get in here. We were visiting and staying in a different part of town and it was so worth traveling over. If you're anywhere near the twin cities, just go. We had the onion rings, cornbread and the burger Mac. You think you know what to expect with onion rings and cornbread and these were so much more. The seasonings in the breading of the rings plus homemade ranch and BBQ dipping sauces were amazing. I'm from KC and am so picky about BBQ sauce...and this was a great balance of spice and sweet. The cornbread is savory and also topped with sweet butter. The chili Mac was nostalgic and also something I had never experienced before, with the sweet and umami sauce and BBQ drizzle and salty pickles... We wanted to order more so we could try everything, but also probs best we didn't because the portions were so generous. We will just need to come back. Other pros: plenty of seating, kind folks, and overall chill vibes. Cons: Not in our home state. 💕
Decided to check out a vegan spot before our concert in Minneapolis and it definitely did not disappoint! I brought a friend who was on the fence with vegan food and she said this was an amazing first introduction to authentic vegan food. Will definitely be stopping here again.
Wanted to taste American food, but couldn't because you're vegetarian? Trio is the place for you, many American dishes are available with plant based substitutes. Loved the taste. There's a 20% gratuity if one dines in.
As someone who lives in CA and has friends in Minneapolis who are constantly sharing their love of Trio, I have been impatiently waiting for a trip to the Twin Cities so I could try Trio, too! I finally made it there and dined in three times and had takeout once. I had the BBQ Pit (BBQ burger) and Falafel (both with Cajun fries and ranch — YUM!). I also had the Taco Trio (I could drink the salsa LOL), and Onitha’s Peach Cobbler — so comforting. For takeout, I had Mac and Cheeze, Collard Greens, and Cornbread. After trying such a variety, I can confidently say that Trio is consistently delicious. Louis, Angel, and staff do such a great job sharing their love with their customers and community. Looking forward to my next trip in to Minneapolis and more delicious food at Trio. Nachos, Lillian’s Sweet Potato Pie, and Vanilla Cake with Strawberry Sauce are for sure on my list of things to try next. p.s. They even have a kids menu. :)
