I get panic attacks. This is a major factor when deciding where I feel safe being vulnerable and learning new things. So it was especially important to consider when deciding what dance studio to go to. Duende has been amazing in so many ways. What initially caught my eye about duende was how easy their website was to navigate and how much information and video visuals they provided. I felt like I was able to get a good idea of what to expect and the vibe before going in. And scheduling online has only gotten easier as they now have an app scheduling option! What helps me most is how well they break down the steps, notice where you’re struggling to give advice and give detailed answers even to my most confused & disorganized questions. If you stick around you’re guaranteed to hear some silly jokes that has the class giggling and some nuggets of inspiration that apply to life as well as dance. I am very grateful for Melissa, Byron & all of the other instructors. They are welcoming and go above and beyond. You can tell their heart is in not only dance but helping students learn and grow. So, thanks Duende :)
I love Duende! Byron, Melissa, and all the other instructors I’ve met are fantastic—they are welcoming, knowledgeable, professional, and they really care about their students. Melissa also manages the front desk and somehow remembers EVERYONE’S names. All the instructors are friendly when they see you out at socials around the Twin Cities. The classes and curriculum are structured to provide the most effective lessons for the number and variety of students. I always feel like I get a lot out of the group classes, even on occasions where I’m already familiar with some of the moves. Because the studio is so popular, there can be a lot of door-traffic at the beginning of class. Make sure you register beforehand, arrive as early as possible, and follow all the guidelines on the website. Melissa is awesome and so helpful, but there’s only so much she can do when 80 people are walking in within a 10-minute window. I also highly recommend their monthly social! The music is always great & it’s a comfortable space for new and experienced dancers.
Duende is one of the best studios in MN, the instructions are super knowledgeable about technique. And, really support the goals of everyone no matter the level of dancer. All the staff are friendly, super nice to be around. I really feel welcomed when I’m in there. I recommend everyone to come and take lessons.
Top-notch quality. Fun group classes, and excellent instructors across the board for private lessons of all sorts. Byron is an artist, and tons of fun to work with. Practical, patient, professional. Look no further.
I highly recommend Duende Dance Studio, they are very professional and have a great studio space. The entire staff and instructors want you to succeed in your dance journey and they will give you the skills you need for that success.
