They gave me an initial 7 hour torturous pill (at night) and told me it was prozac at 17 years old. I literally felt the center of my brain being forced downwards upon 1-2 minutes of ingestion followed by the rest of my brain frying (Felt like the inside of my head was melting). I was in tears and a different nurse walked in the door way (without door) laughing upon me crying "Nurse I'm dying." The different male nurse then walked out immediately. Visual hallucinations were evident and excruciating pain was felt for 7 hours straight with visual hallucinations and the worst feeling that nobody should ever feel. My eyes were seeing primarily purple/red as well as orange with green. The patterns in the wood - like design in their inpatient room were moving/morphing due to the hallucinations experienced because of the first pill they gave me. I wasn't able to lay my head down on the bed (that's how painful this was). I was sitting on the bed staring at the wall experiencing these visual hallucinations and excruciating pain. I was very out of it the next day (morning after) and I have PTSD from this. After the 7 hours of torture from this pill, there was only about 10 or so minutes of me able to close my eyes before a different nurse was chanting in the hallway "Good Morning," (Repetitively), until the nurse came in and told me that it was time for breakfast. I was awakened (while extremely out of it/and in shock), very briefly, after this pill started to wear off by morning time. I was in a state of shock from this trauma. I had no overnight sleep. The next morning I was only hearing voices in my head. Then they had the audacity to give me real medication afterwards. Don't trust these people they are not real doctors/psychiatrists. Send your kids to outside institution psychiatrists as this is a complete set up. I still can't shake that first pill that they gave me as I have PTSD and I'm 25 now. I really hope they close down for good and no longer exist as an institution. Really shady people with demonic ideals and malpractice.
You have to fake that you're better just to get out of that hell hole. A kid was throwing a tantrum and two guys go in and sedate him. Mental health services in El Paso are horrendous.
Honestly they deserve 5 stars the staff were amazing, the food was great, and the people I was around had interesting stories to change the way you look at life I was there for a week and appreciated every moment and everything they did for me, only downside not 21 yet so couldn't smoke.
Yeah do not recommend. They find ways to manipulate you into staying longer and will traumatize you into keeping your issues to yourself. There was no therapist counseling as I only saw one for 10 minutes then nothing we just talked about my history no talk about my current situation, didn't really get any help from it. Saw the doctor every morning 2 minutes tops. Nothing absolutely to do, no wonder everyone goes insane there. Staff walk around ignoring patients with earbuds in their ears and blasting music, and announcing to all of us they need a smoke break and sipping their starbucks in front of everyone while the food gives us all diarrhea or food poisoning. My roommate was not feeling well and when we told the nurse she brushed us off saying she's too busy on her computer. There was feces and blood in the bathrooms and walls of the sleeping quarters and God knows where else. I was met by the billing office saying I'll owe thousands of dollars and for what? There was absolutely no therapists and therapy sessions. I got more help from the other patients than the medical staff. It was like a detention center in there and they put tracking monitors on us saying its to check your vitals but really just making sure you dont escape. I tried to check myself out but the staff kept dodging me with excuses for the Against Medical Advice form and then tried to say the doctor wont let you unless he says its okay. So again, they will trick you into staying against your will. You're better off having a meltdown in your home surrounded by your hobbies and self care. God help you if you end up in this hell hole called a treatment center.
This place is a literal nightmare. The psychiatrist is a narcissist and refuses to listen to parents or the patient. They enable behavior and make kids with attachment disorders ten times worse. They are are completely negligent they took my son for surgery without getting permission. They supported him in being abusive and making threats but then when he acted out kicked him out immediately. The fact that this horrific place is the only option is disgusting and honestly the so is half the staff.
