This was my first visit here and it was great. The area is safe and secure. The inside is beautiful and quiet and the atmosphere is relaxing. I really felt at home. The stylist, Tonya, is very professional and easy to talk to. My wait time from arrival to getting in the chair wasn't long at all. She is down to earth and will give you tips on maintaining your styles. The only thing I didn't like was that I was charged extra for a trim. I thought all of that was included with getting your hair done. At least that was the case back in the day. However, overall I still enjoyed my experience since there aren't many salons that specifically caters to natural hair. Thank you. We shall see each other again soon.
I went in to the salon in preparation for a funeral and every member of the staff made me feel welcomed and cared for. I was greeted with warm smiles and while I had a lot on my mind while in the chair, everyone was kind and attentive. I received a lot of compliments on my hair and the style held for easily 2 weeks. If you're looking for a salon in the Jackson area that focuses on natural hair, caring for you as a client, and provides great service, Natural Tresses is the place for you.
I loved my experience. It was my first time in a real salon in over 10 years. My hair turned out great! I got a tapered cut and wash and go. I told the stylist how I normally wear my hair in twist out or a wash and go and it looks great either way. Everyone was so nice and knew what they were doing. They do all kinds of natural styles and I will definitely be back to maintain my cut.
This was my first visit to Natural Tresses Salon and I am not sure that I will be back. From the beginning I was weary about how they were handling my hair. I have a lot of hair and it's very thick. My shampoo experience was not that great as I felt the shampoo girl was not taught how to properly wash natural hair. I've been to another natural hair salon that also did the same thing, not wash my hair in sections to make it easier for everyone. She wasn't even able to get towards the middle of my head. She also only did one shampoo on my hair which did not make sense to me. After shampoo she put a conditioning treatment and sat my under the dryer with a plastic cap. She didn't even try to fit all of my hair in the plastic cap. After that my stylist took over and rinsed the conditioner out with cold water but did not detangle it with the product still in it. Again something that I would never do on my own hair and did not understand why a salon would do that. She proceeded to detangle my hair in the chair which wasn't horrible because I detangled my hair the night before, KNOWING that something like this would occur. Terika did a fabulous job straightening my hair. If anyone is looking for a silk press I would definitely recommend her as a stylist. Thank you Terika for the amazing job I love it so much. When I went to pay my total was $95 when I was expecting it to be $75. On the phone when I set up my appointment I was quoted $65 for the silk press and $10 for the trim. When I went to pay, the lady told me it was $65 for the silk press, $15 for the trim, and $10 for the conditioning treatment. I did not ask for a conditioning treatment and I don't know who told the shampoo girl to do it but if you are going to do services on a client that will charge them I suggest notifying them of it first. When I expressed that I was quoted a different price for the trim, the lady didn't say anything and I had to pay the $15 for it. For my shampoo & wash experience and my checkout experiences alone, I probably won't return to Natural Tresses. Terika, I wish you the best and thank you so much.
The owner takes personal care of each first time client and shows the stylists what needs to be done so the following visits anybody can take care of you. Every single stylist is amazingly talented and extremely welcoming. The vibe is everything. No drama. No extra. Just pure great energy and quick service. I love it here!
