What a stunning evening at the Inn capturing the intimate wedding of Ashleigh & Andrew. As a wedding photographer with my company Benson Park Photography, I work with so many different venues and I just have to share how thankful I am to have been able to shoot at the Inn this weekend. Every little detail of this property has been designed perfectly. The Inn staff were amazing. From the ceremony to cocktail hour to their reception, everything ran like clockwork. Lisa, their director of events and her team were incredible to work with. Having worked at the inn in 2010, and now being back in the area working in this creative capacity, I am just so impressed with the growth and design the Inn has continued to display year after year. Enjoy a look at some of their photos showcasing the property.

This place exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like VIPs, and the food was out of this world. The attention to detail is incredible and we were treated to so many thoughtful touches during our stay, and the staff went out of their way to make sure we were happy, we felt like we were at home. The food was an experience itself. Each dish was a work of art, both visually and gastronomically. We had a hard time choosing our favorites because everything was so delicious. The atmosphere is one of quiet sophistication, with classic decor that makes you feel like you're stepping back in time. Every detail is carefully considered, and it all comes together to create a feeling of luxury and relaxation. In short, the Inn at Little Washington is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. The combination of excellent food, superb service, and a beautiful, classic atmosphere make it an experience we won't soon forget.

Save yourself the trip and the money. My girlfriend and I saved up for a nice birthday dinner on a Saturday evening, excitedly snagging a reservation at this 3 Michelin Starred restaurant. We’ve been to several 1- and 2-Star places so we were excited to try The Inn at Little Washington, the only 3-star restaurant near us. I’ve been thoroughly impressed at the higher end restaurants we had dined at in the past; perhaps it was foolish to expect the same level of service and food or even good service and food at a higher rated restaurant. The restaurant asks that you pay at time of reservation along with giving you the option of ordered the cheese course ahead of time, which I happily did. Upon seating, we were spieled the menu as normal where the cheese course was highlighted and we were asked if either of us wanted the cheese course. Having already ordered it, I was confused but went along and said yes. We denied the wine pairings (much to the confusion of our sever) and our menus were taken. Our first course arrived a little while later and our server finally reappeared and asked if we wanted anything to drink, apologizing for not providing us with a cocktail menu/wine list. At this time, we were half way though our first course about 25 minutes after we were seated. We ordered drinks, which arrived during our second course around 40 minutes after sitting down. I’m not thrilled to wait 40 minutes for a drink at any restaurant, let alone one held in such high esteem. The whole night was filled with bizarre pacing in that vein, huge gulfs of time stretched between courses and refills, so much so that over the course of a 3-hour meal I only was able to order two cocktails. (The restaurant was largely empty, adding to our frustration). Crumbs were left on the table during courses, the table nearest to us inexplicably had their only wine glass taken away leaving them without a drink for a significant period, silverware was dropped, and my little monogrammed “happy birthday” chocolate was placed upside down in front of me. Small details, but this is a 3 Michelin Starred restaurant. The night was a constant series of miscues, mistakes, and disappointments. We ended the evening with servers stripping the tables near us in preparation of the next day, a strong hint that they wanted us to leave. It’s not my fault that the meal took so long. I would have happily left earlier. The food was not the saving grace of the evening. When it did arrive, it was underwhelming. The tasting menu is small, lacking in creativity, and dull. The only dishes worth writing home about were the duck and lamb which were good but not extraordinary. In short: We spent ~$1,300 to be disappointed on every level. The Inn at Little Washington is a waste of your time and money. I didn’t find this place worth 1 star. If you want to have a good evening, take your money to Olive Garden instead.

Some Guy’s Opinion

There are restaurants, then there’s this place. It’s not fair to compare them to any other meal you will have. The service is beyond what you can expect anywhere. The food is beyond the best. The atmosphere is exceeding expectations on every level. Is it pricey? Yes. Is it a once in a lifetime experience? Absolutely. Would I do it again? You know it. If you have the opportunity, then you have to have dinner at the Inn at Little Washington.

Review for the restaurant: it was a magical night for us! The setting in the enclosed garden was so romantic and the interaction and attention from the staff was so warm and lovely. They were accommodating of our dietary restrictions (Pescetarian letting us mix and match from the two fixed menus). Every dish was delicious! & cocktail! We absolutely loved everything our waiter recommended the vodka not too sweet passion fruit coconut lime cocktail, lobster dish, and the cheese dessert experience! Will definitely be recommending to friends and family for super special occasions and be back ourselves!
