Mel is AMAZING to work with! She listened to what my concerns were and promptly addressed them. She did a fabulous job taking up the straps on my dress and it is perfect now. We had a minor snafoo with a bridesmaid dress she altered for me. We forgot that the straps were crossed in the back and couldn’t figure out how it didn’t fit after almost 3 inches moved on the straps lol. When we figured it out it was a “duh” moment. For any of your alterations needs to see Mel, she is fabulous!
I brought in a semi-formal dress to be shortened for a wedding that was a couple weeks away. Ms. Simpson was an absolute joy to work with. She got me in quickly and even rushed the service for me so it could get done in time. She was so professional, but also so welcoming and easy to talk to. It was such a great experience. I highly recommend her for any alteration needs. She’s a rockstar!
I called for assistance and was laughed off the phone because my turn around time was too short of notice. The next tailor I called was able to help me with out a problem which was Betty’s alterations. I would save your money and go where business is appreciated.
Craftsmanship: I brought in a linen/cotton summer shirt to be hemmed at the bottom. Regarding the quality of Ms. Simpson's work, I noted two areas for improvement: 1. The stitching was not locked on one end. When a stitch is not locked correctly on one end, it can unravel completely. 2. The shirt puckers significantly where it was hemmed. This often happens when working with stretch fabrics. However, I brought in a shirt with little to no stretch. I was surprised to see the puckering! For $28, I believe you can find better craftsmanship and value elsewhere. Business Practices: Ms. Simpson has a strict payment policy, which I was unaware of: 1. Payment must be made prior to initiation of services 2. If invoice is not paid within 7 business days of scheduled pick-up date there is an additional $60 up-charge My scheduled pick-up date was for May 2nd. I went to go pick-up my item and make payment on May 3rd. There was a sign informing me that Ms. Simpson was to be out of office May 3 - 10 (something I had not been informed of previously). When my wife returned on May 11 to pick up the shirt on my behalf, Ms. Simpson refused to relinquish the shirt and demanded $60 up-charge. Rather than acknowledging the mutual miscommunication, Ms. Simpson became angry and unprofessional.
Ms. Simpson was amazing to work with. This was the first time I have used C Simpson and Co and I will definitely recommend to friends/come back. 10/10 service/experience. Their service, quality of work, communication and friendliness was the best experience I have ever had from any tailor I have been to. They even got the alteration done ahead of schedule. They altered a very large 15”x7” single piece curtain into two separate panels. It looks stunning. I highly recommend! Great work, thank you so much!!
