I’m a Florida girl and when I brunch, it includes grits! I decided to explore my options and came across a Black owned business that offers southern inspired cuisine. I ordered the Louisiana Purchase of course (shrimp & grits) with a side of scrambled eggs, and my partner ordered the Kitchen skillet with Mac n cheese. This was my first time having blue grits but to my surprise they were made well, the biscuit was pretty good; my plate was left clean. The portions are very reasonable for the price, we spent under $65 for both meals and mimosa’s. The home fries in the Kitchen Skillet are more like fries, not his favorite. He still enjoyed the meal and loved the cheese used in the Mac. We traveled from Manchester and we were surprised to see it lacked any diversity, but nonetheless we came to eat and I enjoyed the food!
We were in Dover and needed a place for lunch, and i thought my kids would enjoy the food options here. I was right! It was kid and adult approved. The decor was great- comfy spaces to sit, great floors and art. You order at the counter and then they bring your food to your table. It was tough to decide- the menu all sounded delicious, but we ended up with the following, and I would recommend all of them: The Southerner (biscuits & gravy with sage sausage; delicious comfort food), The Sassy (their waffles were amazing!), The Cobbler (waffles with lemon & blueberry, a great combination), The Kentucky (biscuit sandwich with fried chicken. So good! Also, the home fries were some of my favorite), and the kids pancake (it smelled like banana bread, in the best possible way. After eating here my kids requested that I make banana wheat pancakes).
5 stars all around for the Sassy Biscuit. Amazing biscuits that transported me back to my southern roots. Some of the best waffle/ syrup combinations I've ever tasted. The fried chicken was delicious, the drinks divine, & the service top notch. Our whole family loved every minute of the adventure & it was worth the hour plus trip from Gloucester. I can't wait to bring more people back next time we go.
Wow. Just wow. The drinks are amazing, I will have to stop by Monday-Thursday for their bottomless mimosas. Food was delicious- chicken and waffles had an amazing apple cider gravy. My husband got the eggs Benedict and left no crumbs. This place is the real deal. Joana f thank you for amazing service!!!
We are visiting New England and wanted to try the Sassy Biscuit. It did not disappoint! Cute location, friendly service and delicious food! I had the "cobbler". A waffle with blueberries and lemon. So yummy! My husband had biscuits and gravy. He loved it, especially with their mango hot sauce.
