I can here for Mother’s Day earlier this year and thought the food was great then - this time around it was excellent! You MUST try the turkey sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit. And get the grits - the grits are awesome. Plus, staff were really sweet and welcoming.
This place was a 10 out of 10! Service was amazing, the music was on point, & the food was cooked with OHIO love from Miss Donna! I’ll be back every time I’m in the city!!! Black owed, go support our people!!!
I recently had the pleasure of working with Home Sweet Harlem catering for a repast, and I am thrilled to share my wonderful experience. Not only did they provide delicious soul food, but they also delivered everything on time and in a professional manner. And the best part? They were surprisingly budget-friendly. Right from the beginning, the owner, Donna, showed care and dedication during a sensitive time as well as delivering excellent service. During the initial consultation, she listened attentively to our needs and worked with us to create a customized menu that fit within our budget. She made the entire planning process stress-free and enjoyable. On the day of the repast, the staff arrived promptly and set up the serving station. Now, let's talk about the food - it was absolutely outstanding. The soul food dishes were fresh, hot and cooked to perfection, with flavors that everyone raved about. From the classic southern fried chicken to the delectable mac and cheese, every dish was a delightful treat. But the stand out were the savory collard greens! Several of the guests called me afterwards to find out who cooked them! Overall, I cannot recommend Home Sweet Harlem enough to cater your next event. Their delicious soul food, professional service, and budget-friendly approach make them a standout choice. Home Sweet Harlem is a gem that you don't want to miss.
We traveled from Mt.Vernon and were looking forward to eating here. We entered and were taken aback because they were handling a tray of biscuits near the entrance (the biscuits looked like they were delicious, though). We asked to sit at a table that had an exotic looking chair but were denied and informed it was only for guests with reservations. We had to request our table be cleaned because it was very sticky. My coffee was cold, so we decided to just leave before ordering. (I did leave a nice tip because our server was very nice)
