100000% recommend HairThrone. I’ve been twice — my first time with Karen and my second time with Michael. Both artists did an absolutely incredible job with my hair. Not to mention the atmosphere is fun and inviting. I have long dark thick hair with caramel/warm balayage. Thanks to the amazing job Karen did 8 months ago, I didn’t have a need to come back to the salon until now! This last appointment was with Michael and this time, I was looking for a lighter/blonder balayage color, which is not an easy ask considering how dark and thick my hair is. Well, like Karen, he did not disappoint. Michael got the color precisely on POINT! I am so happy with my hair!! He took his time, explained the process, the reasoning behind the why and the how, he made me feel confident and comfortable, he has an amazing personality, and I just so appreciated the attention and care he took to my hair (and side note - I so appreciated Emily, another artist, who kindly stayed later than she needed to in order to lend Michael a hand with blow drying my hair - thank you again, Emily!) I am not usually one to write reviews, but I am so pleased and happy with the service I’ve received (twice now) at this salon and being newer to the city (with an overwhelming number of salons to choose from), I hope this review helps anyone who is considering trying this salon out - do it! You won’t regret it! :)
Absolutely in love with Hair Throne! Wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. Hannah Ransom is my girl, I wouldn’t trust anyone else in NYC with my hair. She is so meticulous and thoughtful and will put in the effort to make sure that her work is perfect. Not only is she incredibly talented, but she’s also a joy to hangout with and makes anyone who sits in her chair feel like an old friend.
I traveled across several states to see Bianca to have a full highlight plus grey coverage. Bianca is an artist and she is meticulous and I am very pleased with my results. Bianca, and her assistant Michael, found that the reason why my hair was fading warm was because it wasn't lifted enough, so she put oh so many foils on my head, then Michael went in and opened each and every foil, and where my hair was red in the foils - re-applied the lightener to the affected areas - we're talking strands in some cases - essentially a color correction. For all intents and purposes, he did all of the foils again - this was a planned strategy. Bianca not only covered my grey, she went all over my head and created a blend from the darker to the lighter. I suppose this all sounds like common sense if you're a hairdresser, but the result looks completely natural, with no orange. The color goes well with my skin tone, also. Additionally, she is a phenomenal manager and teacher. Since I was there for 6 hours, I was able to watch and listen to her with her employees. They love her, and she loves them. She communicates in a way that does not cause others to become defensive, and that is so rare. A happy workplace means great results for the customer. I'll be back with her in 6 months for a partial highlight. I just can't recommend Bianca and Michael and the team enough.
I had a great experience when I went in for a gloss and cut by Hannah. I was taken inside immediately after arrival and Hannah did a great job with executing my vision for my hair. I recommend getting a hair cut with Hannah. Friendly staff and cute atmosphere.
Marissa is the best hairstylist I’ve ever used. She does her work so beautifully and precisely. I went from very dark hair to blonde and no damage was ever experienced to my hair thanks to her work. I will not use anyone else except her.
