I was hesitant to try this place because of the negative reviews I read. But, honestly, I just think those folks either don't know good food or were having a bad day already. From my experience today, if you're ever in the Greensboro area and wanting to try a creative take on Jamaican cuisine, this is the place to go! We ordered the jerk chicken and cheesesteak egg rolls and have never had anything like them before--juicy on the inside and crunchy on the outside with so much flavor inside and out. If you're a fan of oxtails, Vybez's gives you a TON so you could even share with someone who isn't a fan and make them one! I definitely recommend the rice and peas, cabbage, and beef patty for sides. The cabbage has a wonderful heat to it and balances well with the rice and peas. We even got a mixed frozen drink to top it all off which helped cool us off on such a hot day. Not only does Vybez have some delicious food, their customer service is some of the best--friendly, warm, and will do anything they can to make your experience amazing. I will definitely be back! Just an FYI: Vybez is located in a building with other food businesses called The City Kitch. You'll need to order online beforehand or scan their QR code on a board if you're there. All orders are to go, but there are a couple of tables you can sit and eat if you need to.
Really good jerk chicken! The wings had an excellent char to them and the flavor was great. My boyfriend had the loaded beef patty and loved it The frozen drinks were amazing as well
I decided to try this place after reading numerous mixed reviews. Here's my take: the service was wonderful, everyone I dealt with was pleasant and cheery. The food was ok. While it's not authentic Jamaica food, it wasn't horrible. I ordered chicken patty and jerk wing. The chicken patty needed much more flavour. The jerk wings were a bit spicy and way too dark from what I know of Jerk. I think it was their version of Jerk chicken. My final thoughts.... the food was ok. I would go back.
I had the pleasure of stopping by the city kitch and had you alls jerk chicken wings with rice cabbage and plantains. That plate was definitely enough for lunch and dinner then I washed it down with your peach slushie which was absolutely amazing. Can’t wait to come back and try the egg rolls.
Definitely not what I expected. I was so excited to try this place because I'd been seeing them on Facebook. I went one day about a week ago on my lunch break and couldn't decide exactly what I wanted, so I decided to try a few things. I ordered oxtails with rice and peas, rasta pasta, cabbage and oxtail egg rolls with mac and cheese. The egg rolls were the only decent thing from my order. The mac and cheese was good, but the oxtail was barely there. I was VERY disappointed in the rest of the food. I paid $28 for 4 oxtails (they say they give you 1 pound). They were spicy, and the gravy was extremely dry and thick. The rice and peas were over-cooked and tasted like mush. The cabbage tasted terrible. I took the rasta pasta home and gave it to my 12 year old and even she didn't like it! She said it was bland, so I tasted for myself and she was right. Not only was it bland, but it was dry and we could barely find any shrimp in it. I want to believe that maybe that was just a bad experience, however I am afraid of spending so much money again, only to be disappointed once more.
