I have been bringing my young daughter here for the past 3 years now and have seen several different stylists, all who are talented, welcoming, and uplifting. I love the relaxed, calm, and positive vibes each time we visit- typically once a month. She receives a shampoo, usually with steam at the bowl, blow dry, and kids cornrow or twist style. The stylists have taught me so much about taking good care of my daughter’s hair, will recommend when it’s time for a trim or deep condition, and provide us with great products and resources, as well as loving on her and boosting her confidence each time. I completely trust this salon, the wonderful owner Jill, and each of the stylists. We are so thankful for them!!
I do not like writing these but overall, I am not pleased with how my hair turned out. I wanted a flat twist style and I felt like my hair was rushed. I will say the lady who shampooed my hair did really good and took her time to make sure my hair was clean. When I sat in Jill’s chair, she automatically took the blow dryer and started to blow dry my hair without trying to detangle it and at times it was painful. Also, my hair was still wet in some areas after she blow dried it and my hair was still not fully stretched or detangled. There were no moisturizers or oils added to my hair during the entire service. The only products that she used was a foam to start the twist but she did not add or work the foam into the other dry parts of the section that she was twisting. At the end of the service, she put edge control around my edges and did not ask if I liked the style or if it was ok. I was in the salon for about 50 mins max and again, I felt like the service was rushed. My twist are not even and big. They do not look flat and I went home I added a little bit of my own oil to my scalp to prevent it from drying out. I have pictures of my hair right after I got out of the salon (First two photos) and the day after I got it done. Parts of my scalp looks puffy and uneven, even after having my hair tied down with a scarf. I had high hopes for this salon and I wanted to try somewhere new but I felt like my 74 dollars was wasted.
THE BEST hair wash ever! The positive vibes from the ladies that work there are uplifting. I always feel like a queen when I walk in. Though I haven't experienced a variety of services, I must say that they have turn my damaged hair back healthy. Jill recommended that I start to come once a month but their washes feels so good that I still go back every two weeks. It's definitely an experience you have to try.
I absolutely love Glorious Grown Hair Salon! Both my daughter and I come here for all our hair needs and we always leave feeling amazing. The owner, Jill, is an absolute gem. Her spirit is so warm and genuine, and her kindness is truly refreshing. What I appreciate most is her personal touch - she takes the time to get to know her clients by name and treats us like family. It's rare to find a salon that combines modern techniques with old-fashioned traditions, but Jill has struck the perfect balance. I especially love the wash and steam treatment - her hands are truly unmatched when it comes to washing hair, and it feels like a therapeutic massage for the scalp. If you're looking for a salon that will treat your crown with the utmost care, I highly recommend Glorious Crown Hair Salon. Thank you Jill, for all that you do!
I had initially made an appointment for a trim and a wash and go on 01/07. I understand a trim is meant to be a small amount of hair, but personally I felt they should have cut more of the dead ends off. I had to go back home and cut more hair off. The real issue was professionalism. I want to say the woman who did my hair was professional, but very quiet and barely spoke to me. I believe her name was Sydney based on my receipt. There was one girl who was talking on the phone on speaker about how she got fired from her other job and wanted to fight someone. There was a customer who came in looking to get a consultation on locs and she walked to the back before even greeting them despite having been seated talking on the phone for majority of the time I was there. The girl who was supposed to be managing the front desk was sitting in the dryer chairs and singing out loud. I personally do not mind a more casual atmosphere in a lower scale salon, but if I am paying 100+ for a trim and wash and go I expect an upper scale experience. The icing on the cake was that for the styling portion my hair was left frizzy because after finger coiling the woman put me under the dryer rather than diffusing it. This led to immediate frizz and I had restyle my hair once I went home. Basically, not worth it if you don't apply heat to your hair and want an upper scale experience.
