Plenty of people have told us we had to eat at The Apple House so today we took a Sunday drive out to Linden, VA for lunch. They don't have a huge menu but they do have several great options. The first one, The Wildcat, caught my eye because it's pastrami. That's one of my favorites and it didn't disappoint. It was a toss up between that and The Pimento Cheese Burger. The Bacon Ranch Potato Salad was fantastic. I only wish there was more of it. That is definitely my new favorite side. My wife had The Virginian which is a grilled Virginia ham and cheese. That along with the coleslaw was a great combination. I know it was good because she finished her lunch before I finished half my sandwich. We'll have to head back out there so I can try The Pimento Cheese Burger along with the Pork BBQ. I saw several folks eating that and it looked delicious. There's also the kid-friendly Bushel Pub on the other side of the gift shop. They have their own menu along with beer, wine and hard cider. That's another place we'll have to try.
While driving to Front Royal, Virginia today with my grandson for a few days, we stopped at the Apple House Restaurant for lunch! We were both glad we did. I had a pastrami sandwich with baked beans (no canned baked beans here!) My grandson had a grilled cheese and Route 11 potato chips. Both meals were delicious and came with thick cut pickles. The restaurant also has a separate room for a pub and sells hot sauce and all sorts of other merchandise in their store. Check out photos of some of their tshirt slogans. From the homey atmosphere to the generous portions and delicious food, the Apple House can't be beat!
Not a fancy place but it has a vibe to it that I really enjoyed. Plus, who doesn’t love a place decorated for Christmas in middle of summer?🎄🫎 Woke up crazy early for a hike and decided to grab some breakfast on the way. There is great selection of local wines and craft beers for sale.
Very cute place, the staff are very friendly and the food is amazing. There’s even a cute little gift shop inside.. I hear the apple donuts are amazing! I will have to definitely try it next time!
So cozy and very warm and friendly. Service is slow but it is worth the taste and the atmosphere. Great selection of the beers on draft and staff are super friendly and kind. They do go out of their way to make sure to make you feel home. Store have a lot of the cute and fun items, including a lot of spices to buy. It is a must see place. Enjoy...
