Awaze is my absolute favorite restaurant in the entire Triangle area. We’ve been their customers for a couple years now and always look forward to our next visit. You’ll have to try it for yourself to see why it’s so special but let me just mention a few things. It’s a family-owned restaurant, with the sweetest people as its owners. They always greet you with a smile and a warm welcome 😊. The dishes are made from scratch and cooked to order. The food is absolutely phenomenal, y’all! My favorite is the vegetarian dish - Tekil Gomen but I tried their stewed fish today, and found a new favorite. My husband has been trying various dishes throughout the years and enjoys them all. yummmmmm! I cook at home all the time, with just simple ingredients, and I can taste homemade quality in Awaze’s dishes. They are nutritious, authentic, and very tasty. You will be back, I guarantee you. So good! For folks with dietary restrictions - their injera is gluten free and they have a very nice selection of vegetarian dishes. For dessert, try their coffee! It’s roasted just for you, and they will bring the coffee out in a cute, ornate coffee pot. Give this place a try! You won’t be disappointed!
Excellent Ethiopian/Eritrean food! We usually order the meat sampler and the veggie sampler plus additional dishes a needed for more people. Try the Ethiopian tea, either hot or iced.
I enjoy Ethiopian food and this place is delicious 🤤 I ordered the veggie and meat platter and such a great combo with the injera. Also paired it with the Zapa Malbec (another favorite) A must visit for Ethiopian lovers and vegetarian/vegan options. Had a great birthday dinner! 🎊🥰 Amazing hospitality for being last minute 10 people reservation. Thank you Awaze! A Cary gem 💎
Wow!!!! Took us less than 7 minutes to finish all this because it was…amazing. Environment feels like you’re at home, it smells amazing as soon as you walk in, the staff is so friendly & kind, and the food is just PHENOMENAL. You have got to go here!
A bit expensive place compared to other Ethiopian restaurants and quantity is less. Taste is good but had better taste when had in Louisville. Most items are very cold like taken out from fridge and served. Ambiance is very authentic and also has outdoor seating facility.
