Another splendid spectacular of drag at the Academy. Bruno Diaz one of the most dynamic kings in town sometimes performs there. Very clean. Awesome management. Also like one night a month old school 80s new wave type music. Great for parties of all types. Also on Sunday a yummy brunch can be purchased. Start your Sunday off right!
There is nothing more satisfying than brunch and a show. If you've never been to a drag brunch you are missing out. Fabulous and fierce!!!
5 stars for the staff and the drag performers. And the brunch buffet was actually pretty tasty! Unfortunately the layout of the space was super disappointing and caused us to miss a lot of the show. There are a mix of tall tables and short tables. We were sat at a short table, right in front of the stage. The stage wasn’t used much, as the performers mostly went up and down the aisle. So any time a performer was down the aisle past our table, they were blocked by the patrons in the tall tables and you couldn’t see anything at all. I genuinely probably could not see half or more of the show. It was so sad! Only the one or two people in our party sitting at the edge of the aisle could see it all. If I were to return I would definitely request a tall table. I hope they consider making some changes.
I found $300 on the ground outside this club. As a good human and slight social experiment I decided to turn it in and see who it belonged to. As I’m out having a smoke the staff are all talking about it and decided to give half to the door and half to the bar. Not to the human that found it, not to the performers, no selfish and dishonestly to themselves. I can only imagine what they’ll do with my credit card. ** reply to Avel.. I understand on the internet you pretend to care and wanted to wait for the correct person but when you’ve already decided well before close to give it to yourselves your argument becomes completely invalid. Also frustration is a very normal reaction to thieves. Mocking and laughing at someone who was attempting to do the right thing isn’t professional in any way. The vibe of the business is terrible, it’s not the kind of energy people want to be around. Also who’s out telling people to go claim money? It just proves you wanted it so badly for yourselves that you didn’t even want to give it to its rightful owner. I hope whomever it was appreciated getting it back, if that’s actually what happened.
Great spot to dance and get your drink on. Small beer selection but hard liquor has a good selection. Great place to see and be seen.
