The shrimp and grits is definitely a MUST-TRY, the grits were seasoned very well, the shrimp were plump and that Cajun/Creole sauce makes it something truly heartwarming. I added cheese to the meal, worth the +$1. Rating - 4.5/5. The chicken and waffles were good as well, the waffles were fire because you can have them in different flavors, appreciate the variety! We got Vanilla and it did not miss. Rating - 4.5/5.
Went here for a game night that was hosted by friends. Really nice black owned establishment. The decor was nice, warm and welcoming. Game night was very interactive and a success. For drinks I got a strawberry on the margarita, & my sister had the mango one. I ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes they were both delicious! I got a 3 piece whole wing which could have been fried harder very soft. Someone else In my party order the wings also and they were fried hard. Over all I will return .
Atmosphere was low. It was dinner time and there was only one other group in the place, (party of 2). Although, the background music was enjoyable. There was a lot of staff just milling around with seemingly nothing to do. I ordered the shrimp and grits. It was bland. It looked great but everything needed more flavor. It needed more salt, pepper, everythg! The menu was incredibly small. We chose this restaurant because the menu we saw online looked appealing. On arriving we faced the QR Code menu with a fraction of the options available. We almost left because we wanted to try something new-somthg more original. But my partner had to choose the whole wings with Mac & cheese. I, for lack of other choices got the shrimp and grits. The waiter was pleasant. But there are too many dining options in Charlotte for this subpar menu.
Came here before the hornets vs Magic game was definitely a vibe good the fish and grits was amazing the shrimp was okay the drinks was wonderful. We sat at the bar being that we didn’t have reservations and we didn’t have to much time to wait. Our bartender was awesome wish I remembered her name but she was very helpful and kind. Restaurant was a walking distance from the arena also overall go try them out and make sure you make reservations
I love the vibe. I ordered the lemon pepper honey wings and they were AMAZING...OMG but the other food I ordered was not all that good. The shrimp and grits wasn't good. My french toast was a little burnt but soggy on the inside. The whole chicken wings wasn't seasoned and neither was the potatoes. Now them mimosas....They were so good. Some of the best I've ever had.
