My son is less hostile, confrontational, and adversarial toward family members since beginning counseling with Nick a year ago. Through counseling with Nick, we have learned that depression was only the surface issue. Nick doesn’t stop at the head; he is able to to reach my son at the heart and spirit level where lasting change occurs. Obviously, I can’t speak to what happens during a counseling session, but Nick keeps me informed if he notices changes - either positive or negative - and asks to be kept aware of any concerning attitudes or at-risk behaviors we see in our child. Counseling with Nick in not an inside-the-box, once-a-week session. He is caring and accessible. At the end of the first session, Nick handed my teen his business card, instructing him to text anytime. This seemingly small action made my child feel valued. Believe me, that cell phone number is used regularly outside of counseling sessions. My son reaches out to Nick by text when he needs to be heard by a trusted adult. Nick gives my son specific, tangible homework assignments then pokes him mid-week asking how his counseling homework is coming along. I know this because my son has called the sessions “mental gymnastics,” which tells me Nick is making him work to discover the root of his issues resulting in real, lasting change.
Nick was helpful in providing an open space for me to figure out how to better myself and my marriage (and how to process a lot of conflicting feelings into a proper communications to both spouse and my self). He was very open with texts for schedule adjustments and communications which was very convenient as well
Nick is a very understanding and empathetic individual. There is nothing I feel that I couldn’t bring up or discuss with Nick. He hears you for your problems and concerns, and helps you rationalize things. I always felt better after leaving a session with Nick.
Nick is by far the best therapist I’ve ever dealt with. He actually listens and makes me feel heard. Despite the fact that I wasn’t able to see him on a regular basis, he was always there to listen and help.
I started seeing Nick a few months ago. I was in a very bad place mentally and emotionally. Nick is a great counselor. I immediately felt comfortable talking to him about things from my past I'd never spoke about to anyone. He helped me face some very painful events that have held me back in areas of my life for years and come to terms with them. It was not easy, but Nick is compassionate and a great listener. He stuck with me through it all and I can honestly say he saved my life. He never let me give up on myself. Now I'm in a much, much better place and I feel like I can truly move forward with my life. I can't thank him enough for how much he has helped me. Highest recommendation.
