Gee (owner and cook) is the "real deal Jamaican" from Trelawny, Jamaica. Very welcoming, with his bright smile and island-vibe Jamaican accent. The food is cooked to order, so expect to wait, but it's worth it. And it's set up for takeout, although there is seating, so the food is not plated when you dine in. The cabbage and greens were especially delicious. Also, the Brown Stewed Red Snapper Fish was absolutely wonderful. Food came with delicious sides like homemade cornbread, and fried banana. All yummy!😋 There is homemade rum raisin ice cream too!
Let me start off by saying I had the food twice from this restaurant and food was fresh and hot and well seasoned it was amazing! I’m in love with the salmon and jerk chicken pasta. Jerk chicken and the sides are 🔥 if you haven’t tried it yet get there you won’t be disappointed I highly recommend.
I called and ordered take out. The person who took my order was great. But when I got my food that’s when everything changed. The food was gross. Curry Goat was tough and oxtails tasted horrible. The macaroni was bland and the greens looked shredded. Lastly y’all charged way to much… I’ll stick to island Fridays. Good luck.
Ordered Jerk Chicken,Jerk Pork rib tips, Jerk Oxtail& Curried Goat Combo, Plantains, Rice & Peas, cornbread. The goat & Oxtail were served together on top of rice, so the sauces ran together. Flavor was ok on the meats however everything was chopped in such a manner that there were shards and slivers of bone throughout making it inedible. I resorted to checking all the meat with my fingers(messy) but still had bits of bone that I missed. We ordered dinner two nights, but threw away the leftovers as it is not worth the risk of choking or swallowing a bone fragment. Also the Jerk pork tips were covered in bbq sauce so we were unable to detect any jerk flavor. Plantain was good. Cornbread and peas & rice were ok. We love Caribbean/Jamaican food so we were very disappointed. Oh- forgot about the patty. It was forgettable. Also the food was packaged in manner that resulted in sauce leaking all over the bag and utensils(utensils were in plastic so would have been usable if we felt like trying to get them out of the greasy packaging)
The food is awesome…perfectly taste . Staff is very polite and attentive. Great food and great staff. Definitely coming back and recommend to family and friends. It’s worth for what you pay for ..big portions per meal.
