My lady is from Haiti, and I'm Trinidadian, so our first expectation was to have flavorful food. We rarely go out to foreign restaurants, as we have been let down so many times; sadly to say. We ordered over $80 worth of food for the two of us. We both expected bad service, but not to the extent of the way the lady at the bar treated us. We walked in, and she looked at us as if we were not supposed to come in or she was mad that we did come. I thought we came in early, but it was already past 12:30pm. All of the food we ordered was basic and did not remind my lady of home. The legumes, which is one of my ladies' favorite food back home and my favorite food from Haiti, are (Djon Djon), which in layman terms is black rice with beans were flavorless. My lady felt so ashamed of the food, as there was no seasoning or even the basics of salt in any of the food. The quantity of food was horrible, and honestly had me heated, because sadly to say I could have went to a carryout or fast food establishment to get better tasting food, a larger quantity for way less. We will NEVER attend this establishment again. We traveled from VA to Maryland to try and get quality or at least halfway decent food. This establishment must be open because of these high prices. I checked the kids' menu for kids, and it seemed to be very expensive. We have decided to cook food from our countries going forward; thank you, Gisele, for the horrible service and horrendous food!!!
Was craving some Haitian food and decided to go to Gisele. I can say the food wasn’t bad sadly it wasn’t great either. Fritay was a bit too dry I think some sauce (sòs) would help. I also got the diri cole too, rice wasn’t too bad. The legume was okay. Overall I think it’s just okay. Btw pickliz isn’t that expensive for y’all to be that stingy with it cmon!!!! Do better
The price on line was different than price in store . Dinner is 18.99 online but 24.99 when pick up . The mushroom rice was tasty but I got some hard pieces from bottom of pot. Fried goat as displayed lots of bone with not meat. , quantity of goat should be more for price . Plantain awesome 👏. Overall I would give it a 6 . For the cost I think they could do better with portion of meat and no hard rice. The sauce for goat could be more tasty but I would try again, but not the fried goat . Maybe a bad night . These things happen🤷🏽♀️. You can’t see their sigh dark at night because it’s faded. So you may miss it on the first round and have to drive around again.
I just left like 2 minutes ago… food was good overall chicken could barely chew because it was that crispy and hard. But like I said overall food was good. There’s was only what looked like the owner working the floor, but I was patient it happens and it was like 2-3 hours before they closed. I ordered Fritay for myself legume for my husband. 2 orders of chicken tenders for my kiddos which on the menu It says $9 then I ordered And order of the rum cake which on the menu price was $7. When she brought the bill it showed the kiddos meals were 12 instead of 9 which wasn’t really an issue but I asked her about it because that added 6 more dollars. She then automatically switched from nice to attitude “it’s 13” I then told her but your menu said $9. She then looked at 2 menus to see if I was right then went in the back and still came out and told me “madam it’s 12” then I said go ahead and just leave the cake then I don’t want it anymore.the price wasn’t the issue the customer service was. Any regular store/restaurants the price the customers sees you are suppose to match it it’s not their fault they ordered something for the wrong price because what they saw is what they saw. But she straight up slammed a door walking in the back after I reiterated that it was 9 not but 12. Again the money wasn’t the issue but as new customers to your restaurant plus you had wrong prices on your food;you couldn’t even say ok go ahead and have the cake or I’m sorry I’ll put it at the price you saw. Just lost 5 new customers
Came from Jersey and found this place on Google. Best decision I ever made. Great atmosphere, parking in front, beautiful dine in experience. Great food, excellent service. Price was average, not cheap nor expensive compare to other restaurants. Keep up the good work guys! 👏
