Choice brisket found here! Got the brisket sandwich with fried okra, pickles & onions on the side. Sandwich was delicious! The BBQ sauce is very good also, not overly sweet just right to complement the meat. Inside dining area was well lit, clean, and nicely decorated. Service was good. Very much enjoyed dinning here.
Let's just start upon entry. When I see a sign to claim the name Texas bbq we all have certain expectations right away. If you have eaten Texas bbq from the Lockart area, Austin and surrounding areas an beyond. The first thing you can't help is the smell of smoke. That aroma makes you gravitate towards it. There was no smoke smell. That was flag one for me, I place an order for moist brisket, pork belly, jalapeno cheddar sausage, Mac in cheese, and green beans. Ok let's just jump in. Let's start with the sausage š¤. This seemed store bought and lacked that homemade smoke sausage flavor. The pork belly was dry but the flavor wasn't terrible. Again no smoke flavor... the brisket seemed like it had been sitting in grease for hours. No smoke flavor... the sides seemed store bought.. potatoe salad was like whipped mashed potatoes. This was not Texas bbq at all...
I am so glad my husband and I decided to stop in and eat here! The food was amazing, the staff was so nice and I cannot wait until the next time we pass through the area and try more. Will definitely recommend to friends and family!!
Been several times. Pulled pork nachos are awesome! The pulled pork sandwich was great as well. Best bbq I can find in Oklahoma. Hope they never change owners! Love you guys!
Perhaps some of the best BBQ in Oklahoma if not ever, the meat so moist and sauce full of flavor. Mac n cheese is a must have. I got the 2 meat dinner with chopped brisket and pulled pork, but next time afraid Iām gonna have to go double brisket both chopped and sliced. Also the meal came with a single slice of bread, I asked for an extra slice but received 2 from a nice young man which is the kind of southern hospitality that makes these spots special. Will be returning soon and will be telling friends.
