it took me a while of debating about posting this review, but due to what happened to me and how traumatic the experience was, i need to say something despite my support of black business to prevent this from happening to any other woman. the entire experience was a unprofessional mess. i had an 8am appointment which was last minute cancelled and moved to 11am on the day of the appointment, not by my doing but by the stylist. then once i got there at 11, the stylist had another woman in the chair with at least another hours worth of work to do until getting to my hair cut. now the hair cut that i received made me go home and cry for hours. i showed a reference picture multiple times of what i wanted and my hair was BOTCHED. I had back length curls and now i can’t even put it in a pony tail and trying to style it myself looks horrible. I shouldn’t have paid and i shouldn’t have been so nice either, but i have a naturally passive disposition where i don’t like to be mean. i’m all about supporting black business where i can, but i need to be transparent. this instance was just so horrible for me that i will never come back to this place; but that doesn’t mean it would happen to you. the weave work i saw her do on the lady before me was amazing and i commend her for that, but my hairs been ruined and there’s just no going back from that so do with that what you will. below are the before and after of what my hair looks like.
This isn't what you want to hear but I feel I need to share my true experience. Asha is not a professional natural hair stylist more of a living room enthusiast. I went in asking for a rod set and came out a mess (as seen in pics). In the end she was trying so desperately to make something of this stringy mess, going at it with a curling rod, afro pic, wetting and coiling the ends(?!) And you know she knows it's bad when the stylist hands you the afro pick and says "help me out here" I walked out of there embarrassed and ashamed. I left her studio and went straight to an African braiders so I could at least have a hairstyle I could walk around in public with. Honey, if you don't know how to do something don't offer and charge people for that service. Stick to what you know, I do not want to be experimented on. Oh also she was late and didn't answer my texts or phone calls when I was walking around in circles trying to find her studio
