Earl is wonderful! He’s brought back to life several clothing items, as well as a piece of luggage. I’ve visited three times now, and every time I come away with exceptional work. Not to mention, Earl is a great guy. It’s so nice having The Sewing Man just a few blocks away!
I had my Maid of Honor dress tailored by Earl for my best friend’s wedding and he knocked it out of the park. He put in two darts to take in the bodice and hemmed it - it fits perfectly. It won’t let me add a picture to this review so you’ll just have to take my word for it!! Earl is a ray of sunshine and a truly lovely human. I will send everyone I know his way!!
Took a pair of pants in for alterations and now going through my closet to find what Earl can tailor next! Great experience and seriously lovely person.

Argumentative and poor customer service. I was looking for a storefront but it turns out the work is done in his apartment (which is not a problem to me at all) but he was upset I couldn’t find “the door” that leads to up to the apartments upstairs. His response was “wasn’t I clear in my text message?” When I asked if it was a storefront or elsewhere near by he repeatedly kept saying “don’t you see the door” often cutting me off asking for details to his location. Once I found the entrance and made it up to his apartment he started off our conversation with “I don’t see why you and others have an issue finding my location, I have all the details (literally just the address) in my text.“ After I trying to explain why I (and possibly the others he mentioned) had an issue finding the place he cut me off and asked to see the bag I wanted repaired. Ultimately he didn’t take the job, which at that point I was kinda relieved. I don’t like to leave negative reviews for small businesses because I’d rather use a small business VS a chain, but he was so rush and unprofessional that I felt the need to voice my opinion. If the business owner actually reads this I would say mention that you don’t have a storefront and “the door” you kept mentioning is an unmarked door that leads to the apartments above. Based off his reviews I’m sure he does great work, but he has a poor attitude.
