What a great place for comfort food! The dining area is quaint and the service is both snappy and on point. But the food... that's what seals the deal! Gumbo, fried chicken and fish, smothered pork chop... all delicious and all come with mac & cheese or mashed potatoes and corn & cabbage or greens. Try the cranberry bourbon meatball or grilled chicken stick appetizers too! Ask them about a dirty soda for something different to drink while you're dining... the Just Peachy was so good that I had two!
I got the ribs, cabbage, rice, and Mac and cheese. My god. Some of the best food I've ever had. Amazing taste and plenty of food to go with. Everyone there greets you with big smiles and talks to you with respect and class. I recommend this for everyone!!
I never… ever leave reviews.. but this place I just had to. Very delicious and flavorful food. We got some chicken gumbo, the rib meal and fried shrimp meal.. and it was perfect! I usually like to eat in, but this time I ordered it take out.. and it was just as great! Keep it up guys!
Wellllll! welcome to the neighborhood. I just moved to brodheadsville within the last month and have been busier than a bee with the move. Family wanted something more than fast food between trips or diner fare as much as we like our local diners. It was home cooking we all craved, and well, this was like a kiss on the cheek from grandma by the time we were fished with our meal. The staff is so sweet and so genuine and hard working!!! I could have stayed and talked for another hour about the menu or recipes the way they utilized the kitchen allowing others to use it in days they aren't serving food themselves. The menu excited us all with something to out fancy, gumbo for my oldest smoked chicken dinner for the misses, and I got ribs all to absolute die for. Chicken and ribs were moist and tender cooked perfectly, as well as the gumbo that had such a rich sauce and fresh ingredients I wanted to devour much to the chagrin of my daughter. We also delved into apps and tried the crab/ spinach dip which was so good it didn't last 5 minutes. Which gave my kids a chance to have a few dirty tots yummmmmmm. I even loved the sides the Mac and cheese so fricken good and it's baked the way its supposed to be. The cabbage and corn was like a treat from my youth back to visit. Somehow I managed to find room for the 4 of us to split a peach cobbler and it was delightful. I cannot say enough good things about this amazing eatery and the wonderful couple we met that own and operate Willie Mae's Place along with one of their cooks. An absolute gem nestled in the mountains. We're going back today and this will be a regular spot gonna try the cranberry bourbon meatballs........ drooling. Do not hesitate to give this slightly smaller eatery a shot and your going to leave full and craving more!
The food is comforting as one would expect from such welcoming folks, and it fits so well with the family approach. You can even order some of the dishes family style... the ribs, fried chicken, baked Mac & Cheese, cole slaw and veggies are all available as platters for however many family and friends you can squeeze into your table or jumbo booth. And trying the meatball appetizer is highly recommended. Great food and truly pleasant service all at reasonable prices!
