I ordered this from DoorDash, the bbq chicken with Mac and yams but I received salmon instead. I wanted what I ordered but it was still delicious. I would def order again, the sides were very flavorful.
The quality of the food is going down and for the dollar amount that customers are being charged it needs to be better. I ordered a salmon platter Fri evening. No one wants salty / mushy mac n cheese. Victoria string beans use to be the best. Now they taste like they were just cooked in olive oil with no season. Potato salad and cabbage did not have any seasoning either. This is my second try in a few years I think im done. Hope it gets better.
I usually order from Uber Eats but since I was in the neighborhood, I figured I'd stop in to see where I'm actually ordering from. It's a clean and compact kitchen. The person at the register has a very respectful and calm demeanor. The chef or possibly the owner (whoever was in the cut, cooking the food) she seemed very pleasant as well. Now let's get to the food honey. They don't miss. The pan seared salmon is always juicy and flavorful. I hate collard greens but for some reason I love theirs. They were out of the Mac today so I tried the mash potatoes and gravy, it was cool but I wouldn't get that again. Yams were hitting as per usual. This was my mother's first time eating from Victoria's and she was making sounds that I never heard her make ...and I would prefer that she keep that to her self next time lol. This is the go to soul food spot, if you're ever in the area don't hesitate to stop by. Parking is tricky though, I had to park around the block.
Food was nasty, Mac and cheese tasted like I was eating just cheese and over cooked pasta(just mushy).. the yams was the worst yams I’ve ever had. Tasted straight out the can heated up and the baked BBQ chicken was not good either. Tasted like the poured sweet sauce over old dried chicken.. and chicken tasted raw.
2.5 stars would be more appropriate for rating this place. Although the food is pretty descent, this place messes up my order each time. This will be my last time ordering from them because at this point, i should have learned my lesson. Theres always wrong items or food missing and they always wait for me to pay to then tell me they dont have what I ordered. Im omw to drive back there to get food they didnt give me after i had them double check while i was there. Save yourself the frustation, go elsewhere!
