I’ve been a customer here for almost three years now and I’ve seen so much growth with my hair. My hair is so healthy now and I love how knowledgeable they are about all hair types. When I first came here in 2020 my hair was so damaged and there was so much that I wanted to do to with my natural hair. They were very sweet but honest with me about how damaged my ends were, and they talked me through the process of how to get my hair back healthy. Every time I come in for my appointment I never have to wait, and they always greet me with a smile. The good energy here is just unmatched, and I’m so happy that I’ve found the right salon for me.
Today was my 2nd experience at Tax Shear Salon but my first with the owner, Danzel. I felt listened to and acknowledged. I was educated on my hair and introduced to the many options that can address my concerns. There was complete transparency regarding services, products and pricing - which made me EXTREMELY comfortable. Lastly, you can sense the experience and knowledge in their work and integrity. Beautiful, clean salon in a quiet area of Upper Darby. I will definitely be returning to this staple location in DELCO.

My first time experiencing a natural hair salon and I can just say I loved every bit of it. My stylist walked me through everything treatment she was doing and was very open to me about my questions and concerns about my hair. I felt very welcomed and cozy! Customer service was perfect! There was no wait she got me right in the chair and went to WORK!! I definitely will be returning in 2 weeks for my cleanse! ♥️
I called today to make an appointment for locs. After being asked if I’d been there before, I said no. I was then placed on hold. After five minutes the woman got back on the phone and told me they don’t have any appointments available. I said, ever?? She said, huh? I told here there’s clearly appointments available online for the following week. She said nothing. I said, never mind, thank you. I wasn’t offered any date at all. The girl on the phone kinda had an attitude as well when I told her I wanted to make an appointment to have my locs styled and colored. As someone who was already on the fence about calling a salon to have my locs professionally tended to, this definitely sealed the deal for me. The customer service was horrible. It’s sad because the stylists are probably amazing.
