If you didn't know it was there, you would drive right by Mill Creek Tavern and not give it a second thought. It is not very big, and while it isn't designed for families, that doesn't mean they aren't family friendly. They don't have a kids menu, but their chicken strips and fries were a hit with my youngest two. (They split them) The service was tremendous, you could tell that this place has a number of regulars, a number of gentlemen came in to play pool and they were all greeted by name. But even though we had never been there, the same kindness and service was extended to us and we felt like we could have been regulars too. The burgers were unique and fantastic, and we loved the fried cheese curds!
I've been wanting to come here for a while. They have $2 taco Tuesdays which were awesome. I suggest getting The buffalo chicken bites. They were nothing that I've ever had in this area. With a crispy coat shell on them with the buffalo sauce which made it amazing. The seasoned tacos were great. The vegetables were fresh. I tried one of my husbands soft shells that were delicious. Unfortunately my hard taco shells were a little old but nothing to complain about. I will still be coming back. Great atmosphere. A very small quaint restaurant with friendly staff. One pool table, games, jukebox, and lots of friendly people.
It seems like a local bar/restaurant. We chose to eat outside. The food was very good and the prices were reasonable. It was nice that (battered) onion rings was an option for the side without an upcharge.
Ok….we had our doubts at first. Friends have recommended this place to us over the past ten years, and we have driven by it many times but never stopped. We finally visited it last week and realized what we had been missing out on. Meatloaf Monday, Taco Tuesday, Country fried streak and mash potatoes on Thursday….bottom line we loved it. Great food, a laid back atmosphere, friendly staff and patrons, along with great prices and ice cold beer. Its a wonderful Tavern or Pub that makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door. Our server “Summer” was an added treat and made the whole dining experience exceptional….I felt like this place reminded me of the pub “Cheers” from TV, where everyone feels welcome.
So this place is a dive, and I love dives. If you're not careful, you will pass it before you realize it. Always friendly staff, the burgers are excellent, and the beer is cheap. What more can you ask for? Pool table and jukebox, yeah, they got that.
