Folks, I have found my new salon. I have been to so many in NOVA with varying levels of success. I wanted to do something more colorful and fun with my hair so I really researched salons capable of doing this. And I found Mara Hair Studio! I booked a consultation with Kylie to talk about goals and then came back for my appointment a couple weeks later. Kylie was so great, talking me through each step and why it was important. And let’s also talk about how precious the actual salon is. It’s in an old townhouse so it’s got such character and charm. All the stylists help each other out and jump in for extra hands, which is so nice to see. It makes it really feel like a friendly and supportive atmosphere. And I LOVED the end result of my hair!!! Gorgeous chocolate rose. A month or so later, I got it touched up but with more violet and I’ve been loving that too. This is 100% the salon I’m going to continue going to for all my cuts and color services.
I visited Mara Hair Studio for the first time yesterday and was extremely pleased with the service. Jamil, my stylist, conducted a brief 15-minute consultation before my appointment, which helped me clarify my desired look. I left the salon with precisely what I wanted, and I couldn't be happier. Jamil's talent is remarkable, and Mara has gained a lifelong client in me. I'm thrilled!
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! First of all, their receptionist was very rude and cold and it wasn’t a pleasant experience with her trying to make an appointment. Secondly, just to have a consultation costs $15- What a rip off!! Thirdly, my stylist was a little too chill and relaxed the entire duration of the appointment and they really didn’t seem the care (even her attire screamed that she could care less about her job) and she kept insisting that I do multiple services (like a treatment for $50 and highlights for $120+) on my hair in that one appointment even though I just booked for a simple root touch up, and then seemed disappointed that she didn’t get my money and didn’t talk to me for the rest of the appointment. I don’t mind spending big bucks on my hair, but when I book for a specific appointment don’t get mad at me for not picking to do something else… common sense right? Overall, this salon was just not a friendly atmosphere and everyone seemed too busy to be nice. Never going back.
One of the most beautiful hair studios, with attentive and kind staff that elevate your experience. I've always left happy, and even had my husband join the hair cutting team due to his admiration of their mens cuts . 10/10 recommendation
Absolutely love coming to Mara. I'm very particular about where I get my hair cut and normally bounce around between salons, but I think I have finally found my go to salon. Everyone is terrific and really listen to your needs and take your hair life style into consideration. I leave feeling like a rock star every time!
