Decades ago this was the place to be for great music, fun and good times. I love the renovations and customer service but since the pandemic hit us things have changed. Also, safety issues in the city keep good people from coming back to this great neighborhood bar. We need to support African American Bars and Restaurants MORE. I pray we don't lose out!!! I wish them well 🙏 I love their wine slushes too❣️
I've lived in Philly all my life and have never visited this "legend" of the community. lol I was pleasantly surprised. The crowd was 35 and up and seemingly a bunch of regulars. The bar tenders were super friendly and poured generously. The music was good (a bit old school 70s-90s) and the atmosphere was dope! The bar is modern, nicely renovated, and afro centric. The backyard is a cool. It is large and has a variety of lounging area. I wish I would have taken pictures but I was too busy drinking, eating and interacting with the patrons. Also worth noting, there was security guard at the front door, everyone was screened and I felt safe. I went there between the hours of 4-7pm. I would definitely go back. They host comedy shows and birthday parties. This is definitely a casual grown folks hang out spot.
😏I had the best time.......the food was hot and De Lic Ious, the drinks were perfect, the service was slamming (professional and friendly) and the Atmosphere...WOW, you can forget where you're at...The DJ made you get out of you seat😁 IJS, AWESOME chill spot with real grown folks vibing, real conversations, and ladies / men representing Black Love. I can't wait to go back!!!! Almost forgot, great lighting and clean bathrooms (my pet peeve)😉
This was a 20.00 platter one Coors Light was $5. For $25 I was not please. We gave a function there sold over 150 tickets at $20 a piece and this is what everybody's platter look like unbelievable . I will never ever go back there again .should I say we will never hold a function or visit them again.
I mean it is a hood bar.. but the food service should really be shut down.. we came to eat and drink with good music We FINALLY got to order, the order taker was at the end of the bar talking to friends. Order was placed, we drank (reasonably priced) We didn't realize an hour and 45 minutes had passed we opted to get our money back and leave.. still hungry 🙄
