Hey people that grab my thoughts and add the flavors that I ultimately do for you as well. I went in as they were about to close, the bell got me like a dinner would as I walked in and was greeted by faces that were checking me out and a few smiles.. okay I get it..lol It's a warm feeling and it has almost like that Sunday type home that you can actually sit down and eat, loom at some art and relax. Nothing impressed more than a "Hello, how are you" w/ a smile and the order was... French toast and bacon [*Turkey] w/ cheese eggs.. topping fresh strawberries/blue berries l/ whip / syrup of course..cthu. I chatted while waiting and honestly, not long if your getting it fresh and hot [*We all like it like that.] it's about maybe 20mins tops as the Host took care of a few customers (*gub hub... yup). Clean and neat. So what's the con about the place... I love O.J so much that they should have 20oz... no real issues. fountain is great but I love breakfast with OJ.. not Simpson. And that's it! Started eating here during pandemic via UberEats so I decided to finally come in. Service was great even tho it was understaffed. Chicken and waffles were amazing. I tried the fish and grits. Grits were good until I noticed a bug in my food. I was upset because they were so good. Fish 🙄. No flavor at all. I’m sad about it. The shrimp and grits was my go to online. Sigh idk if I’ll be ordering again.
The food is compared to"home cooking" and is reasonably priced, staff is friendly and accommodating and the ambience is relaxing and welcoming. BYOB if you wish and live Jazz every other Sunday from 11am to 2pm. No cover charge.
I was in Philly today picking up my daughter from Temple. I wanted to get some soul food early in the morning to take home with me. The customer service and the food was amazing. I got the best shrimp and grits I have ever had they were eaten in the car and didn’t even make it home. I also purchased the fish dinner which was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I will definitely be going back!
Ethos place is a whole vibe! The employees are extremely polite. With a live jazz band playing to set the mood. I ordered cheese eggs, home fries and cheese grits. Food was really good. Definitely recommend. To add city workers get 10% off I’m a city worker so that’s amazing. I was so impressed I tipped them back my 10%. I also tipped the band I love Jazz music and they were grooving.
