From the moment we walked into the office on Saturday, The decor and set up made us feel right at home instead of at work on a Saturday! Now, Let’s talk about the food. Oh my goodness, it was truly phenomenal! Everything from the fresh-baked pastries to the hearty brunch dishes was cooked to perfection. The flavors were bold and exciting, with each bite more delicious than the last. One of our favorite dishes was the shrimp and grits. It was rich, savory, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. We also loved the fresh fruit assortments, which were beautifully presented and tasted incredibly fresh. The whole experience was made even more special by the care and attention put into the presentation of our food. Every dish looked like a work of art, and we could tell that the chefs put a lot of thought into making our meal a truly pampering experience. Overall, we cannot recommend Sugar Suga Pie Honeybun enough! The food, service, and atmosphere were all top-notch, making it perfect for a weekend brunch with coworkers and loved ones alone. Thank you for such a fantastic experience!

Let me tell you how great that Thai chili salmon salad was. Geesh. It was so good. We were also able to meet the owner. She is super sweet.

My experience with the owner was below what I expected. I was involved with a family gathering and assisted with setup for the event. We were scheduled to meet with her to start setup and discuss food arrangement details the afternoon prior to the event. The owner came to the meeting late, beyond an hour late and arrived with nothing to start the setup. We were told she had to use some of the items at her brother’s wedding event scheduled for the night. We continued with the discussion of how tables will need to be positioned. It was a total of 4 ladies there to assist with the set up and owner was directing her discussion to only 1 lady. When I asked a question about what she meant by table layout she said she was telling the other lady only because she is in charge with setup. I reminded her we are all assisting with setup so talking to us all would be appreciated. The meeting continued and she explained how she wanted the food laid out with some possible greenery on the table and a tier platter display for the desserts. Meeting adjourn with the understanding we will return the following day between 11:30 and 12:00 to start officially setting up and food to arrive at 2:00 pm. The morning comes and we receive a call they will not be able bring the food due to vehicle trouble. The information was relayed to me around 12:45 that afternoon we needed to go pick up our own food for the event. We drove to Suga Pie Honeybun’s office to pick up majority of our foods and 1 employer returned to our venue to start setting up the food. Another staff arrives between 1:30-2:00 to start setting up and did a fantastic job. She was polite, helpful and expeditious. Owner arrives after 2:00 and leaves at 3:00. We videoed the setup while she was there. The presentation was not what we expected based on what she explained she would do. We had no greenery on the tables, all the plates were not clear, plastic wear did not match the plates which was a request, and no tier platters for the desserts. Owner did provide extra food we didn’t request as a way to appease us, but that was not we wanted and was very frustrated by this point. I suggested a need for a partial refund for compensation considering the time and gas we had to waste to get our own food. We were told the day before a staff member will stay at the event until 4:00 and all staff left when she left. After they were all gone we realized several items were missing. We had no cups for drinking, no knife to cut the cheesecake, the cheese that was there for the cheeseburgers were taken back by the owner, we requested turkey and beef burgers and only had turkey, and the cold food items were not in containers with ice to keep them cold. This was not an experience we enjoyed and was not worth the money and headache. We could have order food from Walmart or Sam’s Club if we would have known we would be responsible for picking our own food up and setting up 75% of it. We followed up with her about a refund, she mentioned the extra food she “blessed” us with. The experience and dealing with her did not feel like a blessing. I did not try all the different foods, but what I tried the chicken, pasta salad and turkey burgers were salty. I hope no one else has to experience this.
