Will never order through here again. Spent over 50 on door dash for food I can't eat. We order the whole wings and meat loaf combo. I'm allergic to tomato and they still put red sauce on it after requested off. Asked for whole wings they gave us party wings with lemon pepper season on it. Called and the man said they can't do anything about contact door dash. What do you mean when I order food through your establishment. Everything was sweet, wouldn't give them another try at all. My food was delicious! Seasoning on point with the fish, the breading was crispy, and tender and moist inside. The Mac and cheese was delicious, the greens were on point! Loved the cornbread, sweet, spongy, and a good size.

Quality of greens (woody tough stems and bland), mac and cheese (tasted like sugar was in it), green beans (canned with almost no seasoning) and black eyed peas (bland but edible) plus a store bought roll were NOT worth almost $18. I let the restaurant know in the online survey with my receipt but received no response much less any effort to make it right. There are a lot of meat and 3, and soul food places in Nashville that offer delicious food at for considerably less.

I truly struggle with this rating, as I understand this is a mom and pop restaurant owned by a Community Pastor and his wife. Unfortunately, my daughter and I were pretty disappointed in the taste of nearly everything—and it truly pains me to say that. We were visiting from California and asked the locals for a great soul food restaurant and they recommended Barr’s. So my daughter and I proceeded to try a variety of dishes. We both were excited to try the catfish dinner. Unfortunately, the catfish wasn’t cooked long enough. Both of ours were incredibly wet. The flavor was good but I couldn’t get past the wetness to fully appreciate the flavor. My daughter had double fries and I ordered the greens and Mac & cheese. The greens were just ok. The Mac and cheese was flavorful and cheesy but nothing exceptional, if I’m being honest. I also ordered the chicken dinner and the chicken just wasn’t good in my humble opinion. It was a bit dry and lacked flavor throughout. I also ordered the pinto beans, which were good, but after a few bites, they were a bit too salty. The sweet potatoes were tasty, but they were just a little too wet. I also ordered a side of dressing, which is cooked with diced red peppers, which I don’t favor, so I wasn’t very particular about the dish as a whole. If red peppers is your thing, then the dressing might work for you. The cornbread was a bit dry and bland. Lastly, my daughter ordered the banana pudding for dessert while I ordered the peach cobbler. I have to say that those two dishes were the most disappointing. The bread pudding was just ok and peach cobbler wasn’t it at all. Bot the crust and the peaches lacked flavor and just weren’t very palatable. The meal was delivered through UberEats and it was delivered pretty promptly. For everything we paid about $75. If we return to Nashville, we’ll give this place another try, but I think it will be in person dining to see if the experience is any better. ⭐️⭐️

Soul food . So my favorite thing to get will always be sweet potatoes first , the flavor is always 10/10 and consistent in flavor . Then Mac and cheese . I’ve tried almost the entire menu , I loved the fried chicken . I don’t think dessert is their strong suit. I’ve had a few different cakes and banana pudding and let’s just say , the food makes up for the lack there . I’ll try to get more pictures , but once I get in the car , I’m already eating .
