This was the worst experience wedding dress shopping I could have imagined. The issues started early when this was a dress shop where you can’t look for dresses they are picked for you, but I never got the paperwork to send my preferences. I called the shop twice leaving a message that this was never received and only the day of about 10 minutes before my appointment was it sent over. There was the talk of oh we sent it and it must be in spam or something. It wasn’t the forms were just never emailed. My appointment was with Nicole. The vibe of the appointment did not start well. There was a bad attitude and it made the appointment seem like an inconvenience. There was a lot of talk about how exclusive and impressive the dresses were and the reasons we couldn’t see them but that she would pick the dresses for me based on the vision provided to her. In addition, you could not even take a picture of yourself in the dress to keep tabs on your dresses as you shop at different locations. To the appointment I brought a drawing of a dress that I really liked. It had off the shoulder sleeves and some elements that might need to come from alterations but it wasn’t a crazy custom dress. I show Nicole the photo and we have a discussion about what I want. She brings down only 1 dress with just a small part of the things I wanted. Not the right color or close to the image I provided. I go out to show my family and when they ask questions to Nicole she doesn’t give real answers. Not willing to really interact with those you bring with you to your appointment. I try on one more dress trying to give it a second chance but the dresses being brought are nothing like the picture and when I ask about seeing dresses that are strapless and other things Nicole says “Our brides don’t like strapless so we don’t have them.” She brings down 12 dresses that are not even close and when I try to assist with the direction she just says “we don’t have your dress here and tells me and my family that when I figure out what I want I can come back if I’m still looking and when they get more dresses in February.”. I would never recommend this experience to anyone. If I could give 0 stars I would. I hope that this is seen by brides in the future so they don’t have what should be a special experience ruined. On top of the terrible customer service the quality of the dresses are not worth all of the hassle. There are way better dresses that you can go and try on in Houston at a better price and a staff that actually creates a good experience.
It was a very nice experience trying on dresses! They were very nice letting me bring one more person that what they allow and I really loved that it was a one on one private experience. I tried on 7 dresses and they were all beautiful dresses. And they had all kinds of different veils and sleeves to try on and anything I could think of she brought and I could see how it looked all together! All the dresses were so lightweight and see took my measurements and everything. The dress I bought was one out of a fairytale and pictures don’t do it justice. I cannot wait until my dress arrives and I go for a fitting! Super excited and would refer all people to go!
The owner was not very friendly, helpful or welcoming. She seemed super annoyed by our sheer presence the second we arrived. My wedding party was practically doing her job for her by suggesting dresses, accessories and possible alterations. The relationship with your bridal consultant makes up almost 50% of the dress shopping experience so it’s too bad that that opportunity was missed and disregarded.
Cannot recommend more highly. As a plus size bride, I have been very wary of dress shopping but the whole experience was not only painless but actually fun! Beautiful dresses and amazing customer service. Everything was private too, so no need to deal with other shoppers and such. Thank you Nicole for making this possible!
I had the best experience having my dress altered at Olivia’s. I had bought my dress at a curvy salon in Nashville with my family and needed somewhere to get it altered in Houston where I live. Nicole was so nice and helpful with helping me figure out how far out I needed to schedule my appointments. Angela was so skilled in her alterations. I was 3 months postpartum when I bought my dress, and 10 months postpartum when I started alterations, so there was a lot of work to do on this dress. I was not in a great relationship with my body, so it was very appreciated that both Nicole and Angela gave me so much confidence in my appointments. I was losing weight all the way up until wedding day, and they made sure she could work me in for “one more appointment” a couple of times. My dress came out perfectly, and I couldn’t have been happier with this whole experience. I definitely recommend Olivia’s.
