I had an appointment with Joyce yesterday and had the most amazing experience. Everyone in the shop is welcoming and professional. It is very hard to find a stylist that is very passionate about her craft that she takes time to mentor stylist. I am so pleased with my versatile sew in and have received many compliments. I am a client for life.
I really enjoyed my experience, very peaceful and professional. My stylist was very thorough and light handed you can tell she had/has a lot of experience. I really love my hair it looks so natural and I don’t have to worry about it . I will most definitely be back when my sew-in is on its last leg 😂. I’m literally already thinking about all the hairstyles I want to try. S/N I also love the layout of the salon and the black art, they make it easy to book/pay as well.
I heard great things about this place n was excited to get my hair done. I liked the girl who braided my hair n everything was good until the end after I paid when I looked at my hair n realized she made no attempts to tuck my blonde tips of my natural hair under the braid so all my blonde tips stuck out of the black braids. I thought even if she couldn't tuck she could have let me know n we could have changed the color of the braiding hair from black to blonde. Due to this, my tips are sticking Out n my hair n it alls looks old n unmanaged. Another note: I told her that the back of my hair do not hold braids after a week n she tried to address that but it hasn't been a week so I can't speak to that point yet. Lastly, I didn't even complain to her because I didn't want to seem extra n I had jam pack events where I didnt have time to sit for another 4.5 hrs a fix or redo. I was definitely disappointed, unhappy n bothered that I spent that money n there was no attempt to ensure the braids looked good, there was no recommendation or suggestion on an alternative . It's a poor representation of the salon n Staff to not follow through n provide recommendation or alternative if the stylish notice something is off with what the client wants n what will b the best for the success of the look. Update: 05/16. My braids are hanging on by a thread. They look really bad. The braids almost r falling out n the untucked hair is worse. It was a waste of money. Update: 5/17: a braid from the top of my hair fell out n it hasn't even been a week. I knew it may b possible with the bottom but never at the top of my head n if u see what I included you will see how bad my hair looks after 6days.
The ladies there are super friendly and they aim to please. I got a sew-in today. They use the premium Virgin high quality human hair. I'm very pleased. This is new go-spot! Dominique is the absolute best!
I’m not sure why I received an email requesting a review. I haven’t been back here since my first time in December 2018. The only thing I didn’t like was that the person I booked with for a silk press was very late. I appreciate her honesty regarding her not being knowledgeable on trims. So the owner trimmed my hair and I have to say I loved my trim.
