I was warmly welcomed to this Church and enjoyed the services and a meeting I attended after one service.
Outstanding worship services, pastoral staff and musical programs backed up by super Christian education for youth and all ages. Good Shepherd sanctuary is environment is superb--newcomers feel welcome, not awkward and plenty of volunteer community activities! Great way to integrate into a new community.
AMAZING church with amazing people! When I moved back to the area years ago, I was looking for a new church, and I'm sho glad that I chose this one. Everyone, from the Senior to Associate Pastors, the staff, the congregation, has been wonderful. I eventually had my children baptized here, and both attended the preschool (the staff there are equally wonderful). Everyone is warm, inviting, inclusive, and I couldn't ask for a better home church. If you're looking for a new church, I highly suggest trying them out. If you're looking for a preschool, I suggest Good Shepherd Lutheran Preschool as well. Both my children attended from when they were able until they started public school. My youngest will be in K this year, and he was so sad to leave his preschool, but we're all happy that they sull get to attend Sunday School here.
Good Shepherd is a wonderful place. It has a beautiful sanctuary, a lively congregation and a full program committed to serving the community. There is traditional liturgy worship and a more modern service with live band. It's a nice mix of different people and the focus is on Christ.
Selecting a place to worship involves many factors--a welcoming physical setting, social atmosphere, and pastors; a message that engages and speaks to you; appropriate music presented well; a sense of invitation that starts with the ease of using worship materials, the style of communion and whether one is welcome to receive it; how you're greeted at the doors; whether there's laughter, parking, children, a variety of ways to study the Bible, how and whether people socialize before and after; a sense that the church and congregation are vibrant, active, alive, spiritually engaged, and on a faith journey together; whether it feels like a community of Christ that reaches out and serves others, and probably a lot more. We found so many of these factors during out initial visits that we made it our church home. We're glad we did. Come and see for yourself and discover a warm congregation and wonderful ministry team.
